Gunmen Surround Libyan Justice Ministry

Gunmen in Libya surrounded the justice ministry, on Tuesday.

They asked the employees and minister to leave, and peacefully let them do so.

On Sunday, they surrounded the foreign ministry and are still maintaining their presence there.

Roads to the buildings have been blocked with trucks carrying anti aircraft guns.

The gunmen are demanding that the government block all officials who served under Qaddafi be blocked from working in the new government.

Once their demands are met, they say they will peaceably leave.

The government had promised to remove all Qaddafi era officials, in March, but did not fulfill the promise.

14 Killed, 103 Injured in Damascus Explosion

For the second day in a row rebel forces bombed the heart of Damascus.

Tuesday's target was the Marjeh commercial district.

Fourteen people were killed and one hundred and three injured in the explosion.

The blast damaged dozens of cars and surrounding buildings.

No one has claimed responsibility yet, but Jabhat al-Nusra is considered the likely suspect.

The rebel group is considered a terrorist organization, by many countries.

Russian Passenger Plane Fired Upon by Syrian Rebels

A Russian airliner carrying one hundred fifty nine passengers had two missiles fired at it, as it flew over Syria.

The Nordwind Airlines Airbus A320 was flying from Kazan, Russia to Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt on Monday afternoon.

As it was flying at around thirty-two thousand feet, the pilots detected two incoming missiles.

The pilots were able to take emergency measures and safely maneuver the plane out of harms way.

No damage was taken by the plane, nor was anyone aboard injured.

As the region where the missiles originated from is under rebel control, they are being blamed for the attack.

Russia has now banned all aircraft from flying over Syrian airspace, before they had just advised planes to avoid it.

3 ISAF Members and 5 Afghans Killed by Road Side Bombs

Three members of NATO's ISAF died, on Tuesday, in Afghanistan.

They were searching for IEDs when their vehicle struck one, buried in the road.

On Wednesday, it was announced that the three were part of the Royal Highland Fusiliers, the 2nd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland.

In two other road side bomb attacks five Afghans were killed and seven wounded.

One of the attacks killed the police commander of the Archi district.
