Circuit Judge Blocks Detroit's Bankruptcy

On Friday, Circuit Judge Rosemarie Aquilina blocked the filing of Detroit's bankruptcy.

She ruled that filing violated Michigan laws and the state constitution.

Aquilina also ordered that no further attempts at bankruptcy filing be made.

She also threatened Governor Snyder with being charged as in contempt of court for even trying to have bankruptcy procedures.

Attorney General Bill Schuette immediately appealed to the Michigan Court of Appeals and asked for a stay on her motions, while the appeals court decides.

Morsi Supporters Rally in Egypt

Tens of thousands of Morsi supporters held rallies across Egypt.

Carrying signs and photos of the former president, they demanded his reinstatement and moves be made towards an Islamic state.

The rallies stayed mostly peaceful, with only two incidents of military forces blocking their paths, and one use of tear gas to enforce a street closure.

Rival rallies were held by supporters of the new government and the military.

Throughout Egypt there are still heavy worries that things will turn violent and plunge the country into civil war.

12 Killed and 62 Wounded in Blast at Sunni Mosque

Twelve people were killed and sixty-two wounded when an explosion tore through a Sunni mosque.

Twenty-five of the wounded are in critical condition.

Friday's attack occurred during midday prayers at the Abu Bakr al-Sideeq mosque, in Wajihiyah, Iraq.

Officials have not released what kind of bombing the attack was. 

Nor has anyone claimed responsibility for the bombing.

The Diyala province, has long been one of the most restive areas of Iraq.

Tensions have grown increasingly strained as the Syrian civil war pushes on divisions between Shiites and Sunnis.
