Bus Versus Train Accident Kills 6 in Ottawa

Six people died as a result of a bus versus train accident in Ottawa, Wednesday morning.

Thirty more of the bus passengers were injured, eleven of them critically.

The bus driver failed to come to a stop at a railway crossing and the driver's front side of the bus was crushed by the train.

No one on the train was injured in the crash.

An investigation is underway to determine why the the driver, who was amongst the dead, did not stop.

It is unclear if there was a mechanical or medical problem.

Death Toll From Storms in Mexico Rises to 80

Authorities in Mexico have moved the death toll from Ingrid and Manuel up to eighty.

Clearer skies have allowed for helicopters to begin evacuating isolated towns.

Military forces have gone into flooded areas and escorted trapped residents to safety.

In Acapulco, attempts by the city to ration food led to widespread looting.

The national government is doing it's best to evacuate tourists from the city, that now lies mostly underwater.

Manuel has headed back into the Baha Gulf and is growing in strength.

This has many worried that it'll come back for a second devastating strike.

France Bans Beauty Pageants for Girls Under 16

With only one vote against, the French Senate passed a law banning beauty pageants, for girls under sixteen.

Wednesday's vote, followed the National Assembly's earlier passage.

The French government felt that the pageants are debilitating to young girls' self image.

Anyone found to be organizing a pageant for under age girls will face two years in prison and a thirty thousand euro fine.
