Protests Continue in Ukraine While Steps Towards Conciliation Are Made

Tens of thousand of Ukrainians protested in Kiev's Independence Square on Sunday.

They continue to demand that President Viktor Yanukovych leave office, as they have every day since he backed away from an economic treaty with the EU, in November.

However, Sunday was marked a clear move forward, as riot police left their positions, around the protest, and protesters ended their occupation of city hall.

This comes after the government agreed, on Friday, that amnesty would be granted for all protesters and began releasing detainees.

On Tuesday, Yanukovych is expected to name his nominee for prime minister.

His selection will do a to tell if he is going to stick to his word of making further concessions.

Either way, opposition leaders will be pushing for a minimum of Yanukovych's powers being limited.

3 Killed in Bus Explosion in Egypt

Three people were killed and twenty-four injured when an explosion struck a tourist bus in Egypt.

Officials say that a bomb either exploded on or next to the bus, in the southern Sinai.

Sunday's bombing was the first to target tourists, since former President Mursi was overthrown, in July of 2013.

Two of the dead were South Korean tourists, while the third was the bus driver.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Train Attack Kills 10 in Pakistan

Ten people were killed and thirty injured in a terrorist attack in Pakistan.

Sunday's attack involved a bomb placed under train tracks, in the Kashmore district.

The bomb exploded as a passenger train went down the line, derailing four of the cars.

It took over an hour for rescuers to reach the train, due to the isolated area, in which it occurred.

The attack has been claimed by the Baloch Republican Army, an independent terrorist group.

18 Killed in Nepal Plane Crash

Eighteen people were killed when their plane crashed in Nepal, on Sunday.

The plane belonged to Nepal Airlines.

It had been flying from Katmandu to Jumla, but went down before arriving.

Bad weather is being blamed for the crash.

Fifteen passengers, including a Danish citizen, and three crew were aboard the aircraft.

Snow Storm Kills 11 in Japan

At least eleven people have been killed as the result of another winter storm in Japan.

Hundreds more have been injured as record levels of snow fell.

The latest storm brought nearly a foot of snow to Tokyo, with more in other areas.

Blizzard and avalanche weapons have caused havoc with travel on roads, by train, and by air.
