Southern California Wildfire Forces Thousands of Evacuations in Rancho Cucamonga

Thousands of residents in Rancho Cucamonga have been forced to evacuate due to a wildfire, which started Wednesday morning.

Winds approaching seventy miles per hour helped spread the fire to over one thousand acres.

Over seven hundred firefighters are battling the blaze.

The winds also kept firefighting aircraft from joining the fight.

Due to spreading blaze, officials ordered the evacuation of thousands of residents, from nearly two thousand homes and the closure of seven schools.

High temperatures, possibly reaching triple digits, low humidity, and continued winds are expected to continue making things difficult, for the next few days.

Oil Train Derails and Catches Fire in Lynchburg, Virginia

An oil train derailed and caught fire in Lynchburg, Virgina, on Wednesday afternoon.

Fifteen cars of the train derailed, with three catching fire.

Nearly four hundred people were forced from their homes, due to the fire and smoke.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames, after a several hour battle, and residents were allowed back into their homes.

Concerns now are focused on the oil that leaked into the James River, which flows into Chesapeake Bay.

An investigation is underway to determine what caused the derailment.

Turchynov Admits Ukraine Unable to Stop Pro Russia Separatists

Turchynov

On Wednesday, Ukrainian President Oleksandr Turchynov admitted that the nations forces are unable to stop the eastern separatists.

Meanwhile, the separatists took over more cities in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

The President stated that the military and police are unable to stop them, without massive casualties and descending into civil war.

Turchynov added that his goals now are to keep the separatists from entering other regions, of Ukraine.

He also reiterated his fears that Russia will invade, using the separatism as an excuse, just as they did in Crimea.

US Army: Private First Class Christian J. Chandler

Private First Class Christian J. Chandler, twenty of Trenton, Texas, died on April 28.

He was killed during combat in Baraki Barak District, Logar Province, Afghanistan.

It was his first tour of duty.

Chandler was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division out of Fort Drum, New York.

His decorations include: Afghanistan Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge.

US Army: Sergeant Shawn M. Farrell II

Sergeant Shawn M. Farrell II, twenty-four of Accord, New York, died on April 28.

He was killed during combat, in Nejrab District, Kapisa province, Afghanistan.

It was his second combat tour.

Farrell was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division out of Fort Drum, New York.

His decorations include: Army Commendation Medal, two Army Achievement Medals, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, two Afghanistan Campaign Medals, Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, Air Assault Badge.

Star Wars Episode VII Cast Announced, Who Might They Be Playing

Tuesday saw the announcement of the cast for Star Wars Episode VII.

Per the press release from the official Star Wars site Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker will be returning for the movie.

It has been known for awhile that they would all return to reprise their roles from the original trilogy of Star Wars movies.

A possibly significant absence is Billy Dee Williams, who played Lando Calrissian, and who has been doing a lot of press to promote the movie.

They will be joined by John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow. Here's a bit about them and my thoughts on who they might be playing.

Andy Serkis many will know as the actor who portrayed Smeagol/Gollum in the Lord of The Rings and The Hobbit movies. It will be interesting to see what role he has in Star Wars.

Max von Sydow has been acting for over seventy years in a wide variety of roles and it is yet unclear what part he may be playing. Expect for him to be playing some sort of political leader, in the New Republic.

Adam Driver had already been rumored as the lead villain, for the movie, though with the canon announcement from the weekend, there's little clue to a specific character that he would be playing.

Oscar Isaac has played everything from Joseph, the father of Jesus in the 2006 Nativity Story, to Prince John against Russel Crowe's Robin Hood. Again little clue to who he'll play, but a very possible candidate to play a son of Han and Leia's.

Daisy Ridley is not a very well known actress, however expect her to play Han and Leia's daughter, she definitely has the right look for it.

Domhnall Gleeson is best known as Bill Weasley, from the Harry Potter movies. He is a distinct possibility to play a son of Luke Skywalker, but again just guessing here.

John Boyega, again not a very known actor. However he just happens to look like what we might expect a young Lando Calrissian to appear. Especially with Lando possibly not in the movie, this could be his son.

13 Killed by Tornadoes in Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee

Thirteen people were killed by tornadoes, in the US, on Monday.

This follows the deaths of sixteen, on Sunday, from the same storm system.

Monday's deaths occurred in Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee.

Louisville and Tupelo, Mississippi and Bessemer, Alabama appeared to be the hardest hit.

Emergency crews were going through rubble, Tuesday morning, searching for survivors and more casualties.

The storm system continued it's way into Alabama, Georgia, and the Carolinas, on Tuesday, with more tornadoes a distinct possibility.

Pro Russia Separatists in Ukraine Seize Government Buildings in Luhansk

Hundreds of pro Russian separatists attacked government buildings in Luhansk, Ukraine, on Tuesday.

They were successful in taking over several buildings, but are being resisted by police, who have holed up inside of their headquarters.

The two sides have exchanged automatic gunfire, but there are no reports of any casualties, so far.

Leading the separatists are the "green men" who are heavily armed men wearing unmarked uniforms, who speak Russian and use Russian equipment.

Ukraine has accused Russia of instigating the crisis there, saying that the "green men" are Russian special forces sent in to cause trouble and give Russia an excuse to invade.

Russia denies involvement in the crisis, stating that the "green men" are local militias.

The Ukrainian government has very slowly been sending troops in to deal with the separatists, but not at a fast enough pace to actually accomplish much.

They are very wary of the fifty thousand or more Russian troops encamped along the border.

North Korea Conducts Fire Exercises Near Disputed Border

On Tueday, North Korean artillery fired near the disputed border with South Korea.

Some fifty shells were fired during the exercise.

Unlike previous exercises, North Korea actually warned South Korea that they would be taking place.

They also kept their shells within their borders, rather than landing them in the disputed area.

As a precaution South Korean residents, on nearby islands, sought shelter

Adams County Sheriff Deputy Attacked and His Patrol Car Stolen Leading to Chase in Denver

An Adams County Sheriff Deputy was attacked and injured, Monday morning, near West 66th Avenue and Knox Court.

His assailant then stole the deputies car and led other officers on a chase which reached over one hundred miles per hour through parts of Denver.

At 72nd Avenue and Pecos Street, an unmarked Colorado State Police vehicle rammed the hijacked car.

The suspect then attempted to flee on foot, but was quickly subdued.

According to authorities, the injured deputy was taken to the hospital for treatment, but is expected to be released soon.

16 Killed by Tornadoes in Arkansas, Iowa, and Oklahoma

Sixteen people were killed by tornadoes, in the US, on Sunday.

Fourteen of the deaths took place in Arkansas, with one each in Iowa and Oklahoma. Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska also dealt with destruction and injuries from tornadoes.

Vilonia and Mayflower, Arkansas, just to the north of Little Rock, were extremely hard hit by a twister which was at least an EF3, if not higher.

Ten of the deaths happened in those towns and the surrounding area. Search and rescue efforts are underway, and officials expect the death toll will rise, while the rubble is explored.

In Quapaw, Oklahoma, one person was killed and six were injured by the tornado that struck there. Damage is "extensive" throughout the town.

That same tornado the crossed into Kansas and injured thirty-four people in Baxter Springs. Over one hundred homes and businesses were damaged there.

The damage in Iowa covered several towns, with a death in Kinross and injuries in Ottumwa.

Members of the National Guard are helping with cleanup efforts in both Arkansas and Kansas.

Powerful tornado producing storms continued to hit parts of the US, on Monday.

Sunday was also the third anniversary of three hundred and sixteen people being killed by tornadoes, in the southern US, during a day which saw one hundred and twenty-two tornadoes.

North Carolina University Put on Lockdown

North Carolina A&T State University, in Greensboro, was placed under lockdown, on Monday morning.

Police received a report of a man with a rifle in the General Classroom Building, just before 10:00 EDT.

That prompted a lockdown of the campus, which includes not just the university but two public high schools as well.

Campus police and the Greensboro Police Department responded and searched the campus, but found nothing.

The lockdown was lifted just before 13:00 EDT and classes resumed at 14:00 EDT.

Assad Applies For Candidacy in Syria's Next Election

With Syria's elections approaching on June 3, candidates have begun applying for candidacy.

On Monday, President Bashar al-Assad made his candidacy announcement, asking for the country's parliament to approve it.

He became the seventh candidate, for the elections, though it is unexpected for any of the others to actually show a real challenge to his third term.

This comes as the country is in it's third year of civil war, with the other side's main goal being the removal of Assad from power.

The Syrian National Coalition, the government in exile of the rebels, has declared the upcoming election to be illegitimate.

Assad's government has not yet made it clear how the elections will take place, as much of the country is not under their control.

2 Planes Collide Over San Fransisco Bay

Two planes collided over San Fransisco Bay, on Sunday afternoon.

Officials say that the collision involved a Cessna 210 and a Hawker Sea Fury TMK 20.

The pilot of the Hawker was able to successfully land at nearby small airport, without injury.

Unfortunately, the Cessna crashed into the Bay, and it's pilot is missing.

A search was conducted through Sunday evening, without success in finding the pilot.

An investigation is underway to determine what led to the collision.

OSCE Observers Seized in Ukraine by Pro Russia Separatists

A bus carrying members of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe was seized by Pro Russian separatists near Sloviansk, Ukraine.

Seven international observers belonging to the OSCE, five members of the Ukrainian military, and their driver were aboard the bus.

They have been taken to an undisclosed location, with the separatists accusing them of being spies.

International observer missions had been agreed to by the US, EU, Ukraine, and Russia, in Geneva, however not been agreed to by the separatists.

The detaining of the international observers is but one more addition to the high tensions in eastern Ukraine.

Separatists have seized several towns in the area, while Ukrainian troops have begun slowly reclaiming territory.

However, Russia continues it's threats to invade Ukraine if things aren't done peacefully.

Backing those threats are fifty thousand Russian troops who are conducting maneuvers just east of the border.

NATO nations are on increasing alert due to the deteriorating situation, which has not been helped by Russia's continued belligerence.

As part of the increased preparedness, US troops have arrived in Poland to take part in exercises with NATO nations.

25 Killed by 3 Explosions at Political Rally in Baghdad

Twenty-five people were killed when three explosions struck a political rally, in Baghdad.

Dozens more were injured.

Officials say that two truck bombs and a roadside bomb were used in the terrorist attack.

The explosions happened as the Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq rally was coming to a close.


The Shiite Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq party is backed by Iran and openly supports the Syrian regime.

Their international connections have angered Sunni opponents, and terrorists from that branch of Islam are likely to blame.

Iraqi elections are set to take place on Wednesday, April 30.

The country has faced some of it's worst violence, in years, as they approach.

5 Separatists Killed as Ukraine Liberates Slovyansk

Ukrainian troops pushed into Slovyansk, on Thursday, as part of an operation to liberate eastern Ukraine from Pro Russian militants.

Five separatists were killed during the operation.

Ukraine accuses Russia of backing and instigating the separatists.

Russia denies that they have any part in it, but have repeatedly stated their "right" to "defend" Ukrainians of Russian descent.

They used the same argument during their seizing of Crimea, in March.

As many as fifty thousand Russian troops are encamped just east of the border.

On Thursday, in response to the Slovyansk raid, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced that the Russian troops will conduct more military exercises.

US Troops Begin Arriving in Poland

US troops began arriving in Poland, on Wednesday.

One hundred and fifty of a planned six hundred troops, from the 173rd Airborne Brigade, were greeted in the Polish town of Swidwin.

They are to conduct exercises with the Polish military as well as the militaries of Estonia, Lativa, and Lithuania.

The goal of the exercises is further training for all those involved, as well as an assurance to the NATO nations that the US will defend them against any possibly Russian threats.

At this time the US plans to have an increased presence through out the rest of 2014.

It is yet unclear if that means restationing the 173rd from their normal base in Vicenza, Italy or if there will be a rotation of units.

Jets From Russia Approach Scotland Causing UK Fighters to Scramble

The Royal Air Force scrambled fighters on Wednesday, when Russian jets approached Scottish air space.

According to British officials, RAF Typhoons were sent up to warn Russian reconnaissance aircraft away from the UK's airspace, after they approached northern Scotland. 

Denmark and the Netherlands also scrambled fighters, during the incident.

They sent up their fighters to ensure that the Russians didn't turn their way and cross over their countries.

This comes while several Russian naval ships have been sailing within a mile of British waters.

Those ships are being shadowed by Royal Navy forces.

Denver Police Looking For Bank Robber After 3 Robberies

Police in Denver, Colorado are looking for a bank robber.

They say that the same man is behind three separate robberies, over the past year.

The first robbery took place in May of 2013 and the last was on April 18.

All three robberies occurred at banks on 38th Avenue.

He is described as being in his fifties or sixties, six foot, two hundred and ten pounds, with grey hair.

Police consider him armed and dangerous.

US Agrees to Military Exercises With Poland and Estonia

Over the next couple weeks, US troops will conduct military exercises in eastern Europe.

So far, they are scheduled to have the exercises with Poland and Estonia.

Both countries are NATO members who border Russia, and have expressed concerns about recent Russian military buildups and incursions into Ukraine.

Other countries may become involved in the same or other exercises, as much of NATO eyes Russia warily.

Ukraine, not a member of NATO, is dealing with separatists, which they say are being instigated by Russia.

In March, Russia took over Crimea, enforcing it's removal from Ukraine.

5 Killed in Fighting in Eastern Ukraine

Five people were killed when unidentified gunmen opened fire on a separatist check point, outside of Slaviansk, Ukraine.

Slaviansk is one of several cities and towns which have been taken over by separatist gunmen.

During the attack, three separatists and two of their attackers were killed.

The separatists say they were attacked by members of Right Sector, a Ukrainian nationalist group.

A spokesman for Right Sector said their group was not involved and blamed Russian special forces for the attack.

Slaviansk's mayor called upon Russia to send in "peacekeepers" to protect his town from further violence.

Ukraine's government used the incident to one again state that Russia is trying to instigate violence as an excused to send in troops and take over more of Ukraine.

US Army: Specialist Kerry M. G. Danyluk

Specialist Kerry M. G. Danyluk, twenty-seven of Cuero, Texas, died on April 15 at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, in Germany.

He was wounded in combat on April 12, in Pul-e-Alam, Logar province, Afghanistan.

It was his second deployment.

Danyluk was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division out of Fort Drum, New York.

His decorations include: Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Parachutist Badge.

Among his completed courses were: Master Driver Training Course, Ranger Assessment Selection Program, Airborne School, Combatives Level I.

Review: Transcendence

Earlier today, I went to see the movie Transcendence, which hit theaters on Friday, April 18. The movie stars Johnny Depp, Rebecca Hall, and Paul Bettany, among others in a terrific cast list. It was directed by Wally Pfister who was the cinematographer for all the Christopher Nolan directed Batman films. Because of this, I was expecting great things from the film. I couldn't have been more wrong.

The pacing of Transcendence was extremely slow. Sure, they condensed some things and made some leaps in time saying on the screen "Two Years Later" and such, but, of the things that were shown, it seemed to drag on and on. Since the speed of the movie seemed to move like molasses, this reviewer must confess he dozed off at a few points. Whenever a movie makes me doze off, that is never good.

In addition to the lackluster pacing, I felt the special effects would be immensely more due to the subject matter. Watching the previews, they show some good action scenes and special effects. I felt they showed what they did to entice the viewer to come see the movie. Turns out, what I saw in the previews was all I was going to get. They blew their entire load in the trailer leaving nothing else. I was extremely disappointed.

After I've now ragged on about the movie, I will now tell the positives I saw. First and foremost, the idea/subject of the movie was very good. Second, I did like the sets, scenery, and colors used as they really helped define certain moods and themes of scenes. Finally, I really enjoyed the great cast. It was nice to see some big names coming together for the film.

In conclusion, Transcendence was a great idea very poorly executed. The lackluster pacing and special effects seemed to really drag the movie down. However, there were a few bright spots but they weren't bright enough for redemption.

Overall, I would give Transcendence a solid C.

Bouteflika Wins 4th Term in Algeria

President Abdelaziz Bouteflika looks to have won a fourth term, in Algeria.

Bouteflika took over eighty percent of Thursday's vote, despite his health being a major concern.

He suffered a stroke last year, and has been out of the public eye, since then.

His appearance at a polling station was the first, since the stroke.

Despite his health issues, many see him as a symbol of stability, in the country.

Less than fifty-two percent of registered voters came out for the vote, suggesting that many found the election a foregone conclusion.

Ali Benflis, who came in second with twelve percent of the vote, contested it's legality, making accusations of fraud.

However, both national and international observers said there were no irregularities noticed.

3 Pro Russia Separatists Killed in Attack on Ukraine Military Base in Mariupol

Three pro Russian separatists were killed when a least one hundred of them attacked a Ukrainian base in Mariupol.

They made their attack throwing grenades and gasoline bombs, while firing from various guns.

Another thirteen were injured and sixty-three arrested when the base's troops swiftly responded to the attack.

There is no word of any injuries amongst the soldiers.

Meanwhile, in Donetsk, separatists there ordered the city's Jews to register with the separatists.

In other news, Ukraine's government claims to have arrested ten Russian citizens, all of whom have intelligence backgrounds.

The government is investigating each of them for being Russian spies.

Russia has not issued comments regarding the arrests of their citizens.

Pro Russia Separatists in Donetsk Order Ukraine's Jews to Register

Jews in Donetsk, Ukraine were ordered to register with the pro Russian separatists, who have taken over much of the city.

Per a pamphlet put out, by the People's Republic of Donetsk, all those of Jewish decent over the age of sixteen must register with the "Commissioner for Nationalities" and pay for their right to remain in the city.

At registration, "ID and passport are required to register your Jewish religion, religious documents of family members, as well as documents establishing the rights to all real estate property that belongs to you, including vehicles."

Those who do not do so will "have their citizenship revoked, face deportation and see their assets confiscated".

The new from Donetsk reminds many of the beginning of Nazi rule, in Germany, back in the 1930s.

It has been received by a huge outcry of condemnation from the world, except Russia, which has remained silent about it.

Officials in Donetsk had confirmed that this was new policy, but later backed away from that claim.

300 Still Missing After Ferry Sinks Off South Korea

Hope is running out for passengers who were aboard a ferry that sank off of South Korea, on Wednesday.

Nearly five hundred people were on the ship when it began sinking.

So far only one hundred and seventy-nine have been rescued and six people have been confirmed dead.

Worries are that few if any more survivors will be found, due to the cold temperatures of the water.

It is still unclear what caused the ferry to sink.

Ukraine Retakes Airbase From Unmarked Russian Speaking Militia

On Tuesday, Ukraine sent in promised troops to end occupations of buildings by protesters and unmarked militias, in the eastern part of the country.

The unmarked, Russian speaking militias joined protesters in seizing mostly police stations, over the past week.

Ukrainian troops began their operation by ending the siege around one of their air bases, in Kramatorsk.

During the siege, militia forces had not entered the base, but had fired shots in the air when airplanes came near.

The government has been slow about responding to the threats, worried about the nearly fifty thousand Russian forces just across the border.

They fear that committing their troops could lead to a Russian invasion, which Russia has said would be to "ensure peace" in their smaller neighbor.

Ferry Sinks Off South Korea

A ferry carrying nearly five hundred people sank between two South Korean islands, on Wednesday.

Thirty-four ships and eighteen helicopters responded to help with rescue efforts.

One person has been confirmed dead and only about one hundred and fifty have so far been rescued.

Officials said that the rest of those who had been aboard are in the water, awaiting rescue.

It is believed that the ferry, which was headed to Jeje island, ran aground.

A full investigation is set to begin, once rescue efforts are concluded.

Turchynov Orders Troops Into Eastern Ukraine Despite Russia's Threats

On Sunday, Ukrainian President Oleksandr Turchynov announced that he has no choice but to send troops into the eastern part of Ukraine.

He stated that a "large scale anti terrorist operation" was the only way to ensure the safety of the country.

Turchynov made the announcement a day after Russian speaking gunmen and protesters attacked and seized several police stations in eastern Ukraine.

The announcement also followed the deaths of three Ukrainian officers after their vehicle was attacked by pro Russian militiamen, near Slovyansk, Sunday morning.

Ukraine and several western countries accuse Russia of instigating the violence and occupations of government buildings, as an excuse to invade.

As many as fifty thousand Russian troops are encamped within hours of the border.

Russia called the sending of Ukraine's troops "criminal" and reissued their declaration of their right to defend those of Russian ethnicity, in eastern Ukraine.

Much the same reasoning was used as their reasoning for taking over Crimea, in March.

Their invasion of Ukrainian territory has been declared illegal by the international community, but no actions can really be made to force them out.

Russian Speaking Gunmen Seize Police Stations in Eastern Ukraine and Raise Russia's Flag

The situation in eastern Ukraine took a major turn for the worse, on Saturday.

Protesters in Donetsk and gunmen in Slovanysk and Krasny Liman seized police stations, adding to the government buildings they are occupying.

According to witnesses, the unmarked gunmen in Slovanysk and Krasny Liman spoke Russian and quickly raised Russian flags over the buildings.

It is believed that they may be the same Russian special forces who covertly led the invasion of Crimea, pretending to be militias.

Tensions had been lessening, over the past few days while negotiations seemed to be moving forward.

However, Saturday's hostile actions have put an end to negotiations and brought the promise of a swift and harsh response from the Ukrainian government.

Interior Minister Arsen Avakov promised that there would be "zero tolerance for armed terrorists".

He also stated that shots were fired in Kramatorsk, where police defended their station from gunmen.

The Ukrainian government and western governments have blamed Russia for causing much of the current troubles.

Russia has maintained a presence of as many as fifty thousand troops, along the border, which has caused fears they may invade.

The international community condemned and declared Russia's takeover of Crime to be illegal, however no way of making them leave has been found.

Caravan Palace Shines at Gothic Theater Concert

On Monday night a couple hundred people were treated to an awesome night, in Englewood, Colorado.

Caravan Palace, a French electro swing band, played at the Gothic Theater.

For those unaware, electro swing is a music genre which combines the sounds of swing music with the beats of electronic music.

Many of the concert goers were dressed in 40s styles, a different look for the Gothic, which used to be only a home for hard rock and metal bands.

The band was simply amazing and one of those few bands who are truly best seen live as their performance is just so impressive.

For a special treat they even played a new song, giving us a promise of a third album soon.

Throughout the concert, the music infected the night with energy and passion.

Some concert goers swing danced, where they could, to the various tunes, while others twirled with glow sticks or juggled glow in the dark balls.

I left the concert even more a fan of the group, and can not wait for that third album to come out nor for Caravan Palace to return to Denver, so that I can enjoy their live performance once more.

BMW Recalls 156,000 Vehicles

BMW has announced a recall of one hundred and fifty-six thousand vehicles.

A defect with bolts could cause the loosening or breaking of an engine component.

The issue is not considered dangerous, but could cause damage to the engines.

3 Series sedans, Series 5, and Z4 sports cars, made in 2010 through 2012, are included in the recall.

Dealers will inspect vehicles and replace bolts if necessary.

Denver Public Schools to Hire Illegal Immigrants as Teachers

Denver Public Schools has announced a program to hire illegal immigrants as teachers.

The new program, in partnership with Teach for America, will specifically seek out illegal immigrants.

Only those with DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) status will be allowed into the program.

To receive DACA status, an illegal immigrant must have been brought to the US under the age of sixteen and not have a criminal record.

According to the district, teachers found via the program will only be used to teach classrooms of illegal immigrant children.

The district sees the new program as a way to increase the number of teachers who can relate to the students.

4.1 Earthquake Just One of The Latest For Oklahoma

Oklahoma's series of earthquakes continued on Thursday, with six of them by noon.

The largest of them was a 4.1 just outside of Guthrie, Oklahoma.

Most of the quakes are centered near there or the town of Perry.

Nine quakes struck the area on Wednesday.

Over the last thirty days, one hundred and forty-eight quakes, of at least a 2.5 magnitude, have struck the state.

Peaceful Conclusion Possible in Eastern Ukraine

Negotiations in eastern Ukraine may come to a successful conclusion and keep Russia from grabbing more of the country.

A poll showed that only about a quarter of Donetsk residents support pro Russian rallies and less than five percent support leaving Ukraine.

The poll has done much to damper the spirits and enthusiasm of the militants who have seized government buildings in Donetsk and Lugansk.

Counter protesters waving Ukrainian flags have also besieged the militants, showing their support for the interim national government.

In a very positive sign, the militants in Lugansk released the fifty-six hostages that they had taken, when they seized the government buildings.

Officials are working towards a deal that may see amnesty, for the militants, if they leave peacefully on Friday.

Meanwhile, NATO released satellite taken photos that show Russian military forces near the Ukrainian border.

In several cases they are forward of any actual bases, encamped and parked on fields.

According to NATO, nearly one hundred of the locations held no Russian troops in February.

It is hoped that, with support crumbling for any area to leave Ukraine, Russia will finally back off and not take any more regions than Crimea.

Ukraine has promised to fight if Russia invades any more of the country's territory.

22 Injured in Mass Stabbing at Franklin Regional High School in Pennsylvania

Twenty-two people were injured in a mass stabbing at a Pennsylvania high school, Wednesday morning.

Twenty-one of the injured were students, three of whom are in critical condition.

It happened at Franklin Regional High School, near Murrysville.

According to police, sixteen year old Alex Hribal, entered the school with two eight inch kitchen knives and began stabbing, seemingly at random.

He was eventually disarmed, wrestled to the ground, and arrested, by a security guard and a member of the faculty.

That security guard was the twenty-second person that Hribal stabbed.

At this point no motive is known, but authorities are investigating.

Lugansk Joins Donetsk in Rebellion Against Ukraine and in Call For Russia's Aid

Separatists in Lugansk, Ukraine have joined those in Donetsk in taking over the city buildings and barricading themselves inside.

Those in Donetsk went further and declared themselves an autonomous republic and began planning for a referendum to leave Ukraine and join Russia.

Ukrainian troops arrested those taking part in an attack on government buildings, in Kharkiv.

The Ukrainian government and western governments accuse Russia of conspiring to create the unease and rebellions as an excuse for Russia to invade.

They currently have forty to fifty thousand troops on the border with Ukraine.

Those occupying Donetsk's and Lugansk's government buildings have called upon those troops to enter Ukraine and protect them.

Russia used similar circumstances to cover and then excuse their take over of Crimea, which has been declared illegal by much of the world.

However, no one is willing to do more than impose light sanctions upon Russia, as punishment for their actions.

Review: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which came out for this past weekend, is simply the best comic book movie ever made.

The movie takes place after The Avengers, which took place after the first Captain America movie.

Chris Evans reprises his role as the Captain/Steve Rogers, who has mostly come to terms with the new world he found himself in after being recovered from the ice he was encased in after the first movie.

The Captain maintains his belief that that which is right and good is always the thing to do. He also has his strong desire to see freedom for all, even if it means that there isn't complete security.

In this second movie he is joined by Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, played by Scarlett Johansson, who we've seen in Iron Man 2 and The Avengers.

Together, with the help of Falcon/Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie, and Maria Hill, played by Cobie Smulders, they find themselves facing the threats posed by The Winter Soldier, as he tries to destroy Nick Fury, played by Samuel L. Jackson, and SHIELD.

Other notable actors include Robert Redford, Emily VanCamp, Frank Grillo, Maximiliano Hernandez, Hayley Atwell, Callan Mulvey, UFC fighter Georges St-Pierre, and of course Stan Lee makes his usual cameo.

From the story, to the action, to the humor, and on it was a great movie. It was very well made and I really just loved it. I'd go into more detail, but in the name of avoiding spoilers won't.

My only fault in the film is that once you've created the Avengers, why wouldn't Iron Man, Hawkeye, and the Hulk come to the aid of the rest of their group. Of course I thought the same thing in Iron Man 3, but the writers don't seem to agree.

Do yourself a favor and make sure you see this one. And when you do make sure to stay through the entire credits. There are two separate extras in and after them.

Captain America 3 Announced

Fresh off the massive success of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Disney has announced a release date for the third film.

Marvel's Captain America 3 will come out on May 6, 2016.

That will be a huge movie day as Warner Brother's sequel to Man of Steel is also set to come out that day.

A fight between the two major comic universes will defintely be a big way to start off that summer.

The third Captain America will follow The Avengers: Age of Ultron, which is set to hit theaters on May 1, 2015.

Donetsk Separatists Plan Secession From Ukraine, Ask Russia For Help

A day after seizing government buildings in Donetsk, leaders of separatists declared themselves to be autonomous republic.

The People's Republic of Donetsk are planning a May 11 referendum to leave Ukraine, and join Russia.

Protests have also taken place in Luhansk and Kharkiv, also in eastern Ukraine.

Russia used the same situation as an opportunity to takeover Crimea, in March.

In all cases Russian operatives have been blamed for causing the troubles.

Russian troops are encamped just across the border and the leaders of the rebellion have called for them to come in and protect them.

Ukraine is trying to end things peacefully, but that may be a forgone conclusion.

Mickey Rooney, Dead at 93

Legendary actor Mickey Rooney has died at the age of ninety-three. He had been ill recently and died of natural causes.

Born Joe Yule Jr., on September 23, 1920 in Brooklyn, New York, he was part of his parent's vaudeville act by the age of two.

He entered the film industry in 1926 and continued to act into 2012, with roles in over two hundred films, TV and stage shows.

His prodigious amount of parts leave many favorites behind, through all living generations, with several of his most famous roles being across from Judy Garland.

Rooney was the first teenager ever nominated for an Academy Award, and was honored several times by the awards, but never won an Oscar.

During World War II he served in the Army, but was kept as an entertainer for the troops.

Mickey will be remembered as the great entertainer that he was. His spirit will be missed, but will continued to be shared with future generations.

Hungary's Elections Leave Orban in Power

Elections took place in Hungary, on Sunday.

Prime Minister Viktor Orban's Fidesz party maintained their majority in Parliament to assure him a third term leading the government.

However, every other party gained ground against them.

Most worrisome is the Jobbik party's gain, giving them twenty-three states.

Jobbik does not even bother hiding their neo Nazi status or attitudes.

Their gain of power is a scary thing for many Hungarians.

Pro Russia Activists Attack Government Buildings in Eastern Ukraine

Pro Russian activists stormed government buildings in eastern Ukraine, on Sunday.

Buildings in Donetsk were broken into and occupied after crowds broke through police lines.

Luhansk and Kharkiv each also saw protests, though they weren't as violent there.

Dozens were injured among the protesters and police.

The demonstrators are demanding referendums to allow their areas to leave Ukraine and join Russia.

President Vladimir Putin reiterated that Russia has the right to defend people of Russian heritage.

Putin used the same excuse to invade and take over Crimea, in March.

Russian troops have maintained a presence, along the border, despite Putin's promises to withdraw them.

The international community has placed sanctions against Russian leaders and called the takeover of Crimea illegal, but has not committed to any further actions.

Tyson Recalls 75,000 Pounds of Chicken Nuggets Sold at Sam's Club

Tyson has announced a recall of over seventy-five thousand pounds of chicken nuggets.

All of the recalled chicken nuggets were sold at Sam's Clubs, across the US.

Pieces of plastic mistakenly found their way into the nuggets.

Several people have been injured by the plastic.

The recall includes five pound bags of Tyson Fully Cooked White Meat Chicken Nuggets – 16142-928 and ten pound bags of Spare Time Fully Cooked Nugget-Shaped Chicken Breast Pattie Fritters w/Rib Meat – 16142-861.

Recalled bags have manufacturer codes: 0264SDL0315, 0264SDL0316, 0264SDL0317, 0264SDL0318, 0264SDL0319, 0474SDL0311, 0474SDL0312, 0474SDL0313, or 0474SDL0314.

Mazda Recalls 42,000 Cars Because of Spiders

Mazda has announced a recall of forty-two thousand vehicles because of spiders.

Yellow sac spiders have been found in several vehicles, leading to the recall.

The spiders are attracted to hydrocarbons and build their webs in a vent hose, which leads to increased pressure and an increased threat of fuel leaks and fire.

Mazda 6s with 2.5 liter engines, from 2010-2012, are under the recall.

Dealers will inspect and fix any issues for free.

McDonalds Closes Crimea Locations

McDonalds announced the closure of their locations in Crimea.

The company stated that, "Like many other multi-national companies, McDonald's is currently evaluating potential business and regulatory implications which may result from the evolving situation in Crimea".

All three locations, in Sevastopol, Simferopol, and Yalta, are owned directly by McDonalds and will be shut down indefinitely.

This is but the latest casualty of relations, since Russia invaded and seized the Ukrainian region.
