Colorado Floods Caused 2 Oil Leaks

Flood waters in Colorado are receding allowing for cleaning up to begin.

New information shows that the flooding caused two oil leaks.

In both cases oil storage tanks were knocked over by flood waters.

Both cases also involved condensate, a combination of water and oil, lessening the impact.

Near Platteville, more than thirteen thousand gallons were leaked into the St. Vrain River.

Over five thousand gallons entered the South Platte River, near Miliken.

The rush of waters carried the oil down stream and dispersed it to such a degree that no major traces will be found.

97 Dead and 68 Missing in Mexico After Storms

Ninety-seven people are dead and sixty-eight missing in Mexico.

The country is beginning to clean up after being hit on both coasts by tropical storms.

Torrential rains, brought by the storms, caused flooding and mudslides in several areas.

Acapulco and several towns were cut off from the rest of the country, by the flooding and mudslides.

Mexico's government began "air bridges" to bring in supplies and evacuate stranded people.

Security Forces Retake Another Town in Egypt

Egyptian police and military forces moved in and retook the town of Kerdasa, on Thursday.

Kerdasa had been ruled by Islamists since August 14, after they attacked and killed the local police force.

A police general was killed and nine members of the security forces were injured, during the operation.

Sixty-five arrests have been made, and more than double that number of warrants were issued.

Most of Kerdasa's residents avoided the streets, but those who did come out praised the security forces calling them liberators and saviors.

Fighting Breaks Out Between Rebel Groups in Syria

Fighting broke out between two groups of rebel forces in Azaz, Syria, on Thursday.

A group of Al Qaeda fighters attacked a secular rebel group, the Northern Storm, that was holding the town.

At least five of the Northern Storm were killed in the fighting.

Al Qaeda's fighters won the fight and quickly fortified the town as the rebels went for reinforcements.

By Saturday night, several rebel groups had surrounded the town, with the largest trying to negotiate with the Al Qaeda group.

Turkey closed the border crossing with the town, while the situation is on going.
