Many times I have heard so called "progressives" refer to the US Constitution as a "guideline". Well, those who believe so, you were lied to.

The US Constitution is not a game-masters' guide for some role playing game.

The US Constitution is not some programmed rules in a video game for which you can buy, steal, or discover "cheat codes".

The US Constitution isn't the advice given from Dr. Phil or some high school guidance counselor.

It is not a suggestion.

It is not a guideline.

The US Constitution is the supreme law of the land. It is the list of hard and fast rules to which all other laws must conform. It is what gives our federal government its power, and limits that power to an enumerated and specific list of responsibilities. It is what reserves other authorities to state governments, limits those state governments so they cannot infringe upon individual rights of the citizens of this republic, and protects the individual citizens from any local, state, or federal official who attempts to become a tyrant.

The US Constitution is a binding contract between the free citizens of the US and the states they comprise, and the government of the republic of the United States of America.

It establishes a republic, not a democracy. It explicitly states that any new state entered into the union must have a republican form of government, with a constitution, that also restricts the powers of that state's government.

The history behind this supreme law is one the highly values individual efforts and merits. It hinges on recognizing individual property rights, both physical and intellectual. In fact, the state can only lawfully own what we the people allow them.

It is true that the US Constitution was written in order to allow it to be changed with the times. Those changes are called Constitutional Amendments. The changes are not subject to misinterpretations based upon the whims and slang misuses of terms of a given day. In fact, the US Constitution even goes so far as to establish a means of peacefully repealing that contract and convening a new congress to draft and ratify a new contract.

Imagine if the US Constitution really were just a set of "guidelines".

First, it would mean that every piece of legislation passed under it is also "just a guideline" and not enforceable by the government the Constitution authorizes. It would mean that no government official has any authority except what they can enforce through threats and violence. It would mean that the Constitution itself established something nearing an anarchy. That is a false notion. We are a republic, not an anarchy.

It would also mean that those in government offices are not restricted by the US Constitution. It means that the Bill of Rights is nothing but suggestions they can choose to not follow. It would mean nobody has any real rights. It would mean that, not only are we just shy of an anarchy, but we are already set up to install the tyranny that normally follows a period of anarchy. That is a false notion. We are a Constitutional Republic, where the government officials are restricted in power in order to prevent tyranny. The very rights enumerated in the US Constitution were placed there to further emphasize that condition.

If you believe the US Constitution is just a nice little essay that lists some suggestions and "guidelines", you are wrong. If some civics teacher told you it is such a list of suggestions, you were lied to. It is the progressives, socialists, communists, oligarchs, tyrants, and collectivists that want to see you enslaved that invented that lie.

Iranian Navy Plans to Head for Antarctica

In a press conference, Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari stated that his goal is for Iranian naval ships to extend their reach as far as Antarctica.

The move is part of the country's aim of becoming a world naval power.

Earlier the admiral had stated that they plan to regularly patrol the coasts of the US, by the end of 2014.

In 2008 they began to patrol the Gulf of Aden, and in 2011 they crossed into the Mediterranean, for the first time in decades.

The Indian Ocean also became a place for their navy to patrol, in 2012.

Iran is also working on building a nuclear submarine, despite their promises that their nuclear program is purely for peaceful means.

Suicide Bomber Kills 2, Wounds 46 in Nigeria

At least two people are dead and forty-six injured after a suicide attack in Nigeria.

The suicide bomber spend into a wall outside of St. John's in Bauchi, blowing himself up, as worshipers began to leave mass.

Police say that the church's preparations kept the man from entering the building, keeping him from not getting any further than the parking lot.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but Boko Haram is considered the likely suspect.

The terrorist group aims to create an Islamic government that would practice Sharia law, but has been severely weakened, since January, by military efforts against them.

Olson and Beecroft Confirmed as Ambassadors

On Saturday, the US Senate confirmed Richard Olson and Robert Beecroft as ambassadors.

Olson will be the new ambassador to Pakistan, and will have his hands filled due to the difficult relationship between the two countries.

Anti American protests and riots have been happening quite often lately in Pakistan.

As ambassador to Iraq, Beecroft will likely have his first mission in pressing the country on it's allowance of Syria to use it's airspace to attack Syrian rebels.

Iraq has also been accused of allowing Iran to send weapons to Syria, through it's borders.

Iranian Internet Set to Go

Apparently even the Iranian government is tired of the censorship it places on the internet.

To avoid constantly doing so, they began building their own national internet system.

This system is meant to be separate and independent from the world wide web.

By the end of the month some government agencies are expected to be on the network, and off of the international version.

Some reports have it already up and running smoothly.

Having it's own system would make it much easier for the government to control and limit the flow of information, with a lot less work involved in doing so.

At the very least it is a clear indication of the lack of freedom in the country.

Libyan Army Gives Militias 48 Hours to Get Out

Just a day after Benghazi residents chased militias out of their city, the Libyan army gave militias forty-eight hours to get out of Tripoli.

If the militias aren't out by then, the army has pledged to use force to push them out.

Two militias in Derna have pulled out of the city, on their own accord, whilst a third promised to be out by the end of Sunday.

Both the Bou Salim Martyrs and Ansar al-Sharia militia groups have pledged that they will disband.

Eight members of Ansar al-Sharia are amongst those under arrest for the deadly attack against the US consulate in Benghazi, on September 11.

The moves of the last couple days show that the people of Libya simply will not allow terror and violence to have any place in their country.

Trader Joe's Recalling Peanut Butter Over Salmonella

Trader Joe's has announced a recall of their creamy salted peanut butter.

Twenty-nine people, in eighteen states, have fallen ill due to salmonella in the peanut butter.

Most of the sick were under the age of eighteen, luckily no one has died from the poisonings.

People are being warned not to eat the peanut butter.

The company did not make the recall until after the FDA and CDC came to them with proof that it was their peanut butter causing the sickness.

New York Post's Gift Basket for Ahmadinejad

We've got to salute the New York Post on this one.

They assembled a gift basket for Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and well it was perfect for him.

With gifts including "such locally procured goodies as Gold’s Borscht, Manischewitz Gefilte Fish and smoked whitefish from the world-famous Murray’s Sturgeon House on the Upper West Side, plenty of H&H bagels, onion bialys and Zabar's cream cheese", how could he not be happy?

Even better, the Post added a ticket to the stage presentation of "Old Jews Telling Jokes", a tour of the Museum of Jewish Heritage: A Living Memorial to the Holocaust, and a picture book that details all of what happened on 9-11, both are things which he denies occurred.

Can't forget to have lots of "I <3 NY" items, as well as an American flag and state of liberty bobble head.

Unfortunately, Ahmadinejad's security would not accept the basket, but great try New York Post!

FSA Claims Majority of Syria, Whilst The NCB Calls For a Cease Fire

Just a day after announcing that they had returned to the country, the leadership of the Free Syrian Army claimed that the majority of Syria is now under their control.

They also claimed that the only thing keeping them from full victory was the government's air power.

Meanwhile, political opposition groups held a meeting, inside Damascus, as a way to show that there is a way other than armed revolution.

Sixteen groups sent members to attend the meeting, calling themselves the National Coordination Body for Democratic Change in Syria, and ambassadors from Russia and Iran were also present.

The presence of the foreign powers suggests that President Assad allowed for the meeting to occur, to try and show himself as a man willing to hear what others have to say.

NCB opposes armed conflict and wants to see a peaceful resolution to the civil war.

After the meeting, they issued a statement calling for an immediate cease fire.

FSA Leadership Back in Syria

Colonel Riad al-Asaad, leader of the Free Syrian Army, announced that he, and the rest of the leadership have reentered Syria.

They had been spending the past while in Turkey, to escape airstrikes from government forces.

The move is a sign of how confident the FSA is getting, as they gain more and more territory in the civil war.

Most likely the FSA will setup it's leadership in the province of Idlib or Aleppo.

Asaad says that the FSA wishes to unite with the other groups fighting President Bashar al-Assad's forces, and together take the capital of Damascus.

More than twenty-seven thousand people have been killed in the conflict, so far.
