FARC Promises Cease Fire

Ivan Marquez, spokesman for the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, said that they will cease all military actions starting at midnight on Monday.

The ceasefire will last through January 20.

Marquez is representing FARC at peace talks with the Colombian government, in Havana, Cuba.

However, Colombian President Enrique Santos has refused to agree to a cease fire for his forces.

The war between the two sides has gone on for over forty years.

While both sides agree that a peace must come to fruition within months, no time limit has been set on the talks.

One of the sticking points could very well be Colombia's requirement that FARC help end the drug trade, as part of the peace treaty.

FARC has survived the decades of struggle by an income which is mostly based off the drug trade.

Rwanda Says Congo Fired Across The Border

Rwandan Foreign Minister Louise Mushikiwabo claims that her country was fired upon from Congo, on Monday.

According to the Foreign Minister, artillery from Congo fired repeatedly across the border, into the Rwandan town of Gisenyi.

She further said that as long as there were no further incidents, Rwanda would not respond to the attack.

This happened as M23, a Congolese rebel group, continues it's fight against the Congolese government.

M23 has halted their advance on the regional capital of Goma, only after the United Nations ordered them to do so, and brought in their own troops, to enforce that.

Both the UN and Congo accuse Rwanda of supporting M23, with money, weapons, and troops.

Palestinian Violence Against Israel Spreads to West Bank and Los Angeles

Palestinian violence against Israel and her supporters spreads to West Bank and Los Angeles.

Riots began, on Sunday, in the West Bank, as residents there came out to protest Israel's defending itself against Gazan terrorist attacks.

Israeli soldiers and police, who were attacked by mobs throwing rocks and other objects, responded with tear gas.

The riots have continued on through Monday as the people have begun turning on their own government for trying to keep them from protesting.

Unlike Hamas in Gaza, the group that runs the West Bank, Fatah, does their best to maintain peace with Israel.

Because they aren't busy throwing rockets at Israel, they have a much better economy and quality of life than the Gaza Strip does.

Violence hasn't been contained to Israel's borders.

Also, on Sunday, a pro Israel rally of more than one thousand people, in Los Angeles, California, was attacked by about two hundred and fifty Palestinian supporters.

LA Police, Sheriff Deputies, and California Highway Patrol quickly moved in to stop the violence, but were not fast enough to keep injuries from occurring.

The police presence was maintained until both groups had withdrawn.

Israel Eliminates Islamic Jihad Leader in Gaza

An Israeli air strike, on Monday, killed one of the top leaders of the terrorist group Islamic Jihad.

The strike struck a building which Hamas is using, partly to house media personnel in.

It's the second time that same building has been hit by an Israeli airstrike.

Israel said the first strike took out antennas, which Hamas was using to send military communications.

According to Gaza media, the death toll on their side of the border, is now over one hundred.

No foreign organizations have been able to confirm that report.

On Sunday, evidence came out that Hamas has been recycling pictures from the Syrian civil war, claiming that they are Gazan civilians, killed by Israel.

Allegations were placed on Hamas, that in some instances, they have killed people, including children, and then claimed them as victims of the airstrikes.

During all this, rockets continue to be fired out of Gaza, at Israel, as sixty-seven more fell on Monday, with the total number reaching near one thousand, fired over the last six days.

Nearly half of the Israeli population is in danger from the rocket attacks, most have fifteen seconds or less from time of warning, to seek shelter.

The Israeli Defense Forces are still massing near the border, in case a ground war becomes necessary.

Meanwhile, in Cairo, peace talks have gone nowhere, as the leader of Hamas, Khaled Meshaal, put forth extremely unreasonable demands, which include that the US turn it's back on Israel.

Meshaal says that unless that happens, and Israel gives into a list of demands, peace is "never" possible.

Nor has the Palestinian violence, against Israel, been contained to the Gaza Strip.

M23 Continues Despite UN Warnings

Despite United Nations warnings to stop, rebels in Congo continue their push forward near Goma.

The M23 rebels are back by Rwanda, and possibly Uganda as well.

Saturday saw UN helicopters fire on M23 positions, in an attempt to halt their progress.

If M23 continues they will be fighting UN troops on the ground as well.

As of last reports, the rebel lines are less than two miles from Goma, which is a provincial capital.

Sources say that around 3,500 Ugandans have now directly joined the rebel army.

UN troops say that the rebels are extremely well equipped.

Israel Eliminates Head of Hamas Rocket Program

Israel carried out another assassination, Sunday afternoon, following the firing of dozens of more rockets out of Gaza.

The target, this time, was the head of Hamas' rocket program, Yahyia Byya.

He was the man responsible for most of the rocket attacks, over the last week.

Other targets were hit as well, by both naval and aerial units.

One air strike wounded journalists, who were present at a Hamas Headquarters, Israel responded to their complaints by warning them not to be near Hamas, for their own safety.

According to Gazan press, over sixty people have been killed by Israeli strikes, some of whom have been civilians.

This comes despite Israel doing everything it can to pinpoint it's strikes, but as long as Hamas uses human shields, there will be civilian casualties.

Israeli Defense Forces are continuing to build up along the border, in case ground assault becomes necessary.

Air raid sirens continue to sound all over southern Israel, as more rockets are fired.

Injuries are mounting on the Israeli side of the border, and they've not gone without their own deaths to the terrorist attacks.

Since Wednesday, over five hundred rockets have struck Israel, while around three hundred more have been stopped by Iron Dome defense batteries.

Another one hundred missed Israel and struck Gaza itself.

At Least Five Killed in Nairboi Grenade Attack

At least five people were killed when a grenade went off, in Nairobi, Kenya.

The Sunday morning attack tore through a minibus, injuring two dozen more.

Al Shabaab, the Somali wing of Al Qaeda, is being blamed for the assault.

The terrorist group began attacks in Kenya, after African Union troop went into Somalia to get rid of Al Shabaab.

Over the past couple months, churches have been a favorite target for them, though lately they've also been targeting Kenyan police.

Their attacks have killed over a hundred Kenyans.

Coast Guard Calls off Search for Missing Oil Worker

The US Coast Guard has called off it's search for an oil worker, missing since Friday.

He was part of a crew working an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico, when an explosion occurred.

The body of another missing crewmen was recovered Saturday afternoon, by divers hired by the owner of the rig.

Four of their crew mates were severely burned, and two of them remain in critical condition, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Investigators from the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement are working to discern the cause of the explosion.

No leak was reported from the explosion, mostly in thanks to production already having been stopped.

Pasadena Police Helicopters Collide

Two Pasadena, California police helicopters clipped each other, Saturday afternoon, in Altadena.

The two choppers were passing each other, with one taking off and one landing, when the accident occurred.

Luckily both pilots were able to land their craft, despite severe damage.

All five people aboard the helicopters, plus one on the ground, were taken to Huntington Memorial Hospital, for treatment.

None of their injures are life threatening.

‘Undocumented Lawyer’ Movement Underway to Help Illegal Aliens Obtain Law Licenses

In addition to illegal immigrants in the US obtaining driver’s licenses, taxpayer subsidized college educations and backdoor amnesty, there is now a nationwide push for the right of illegal immigrants to practice law.

The DREAM Bar Association has been lobbying every state in the union to grant law licenses to illegal aliens. This nonprofit organization got its name from the controversial DREAM Act, which would provide a path to US citizenship for illegal immigrants who arrived in the country as children. It also compels states to give discounted tuition to illegal immigrants enrolled in public colleges and universities.

But, as Judicial Watch aptly notes, the right to practice law in this country has always been a privilege. Is it reasonable to extend to people, who have already violated the law by being in this country, the right to practice law?

Even so, the DREAM Bar Association does not, apparently, want to be distracted by such pesky matters as the law. The organization’s mission to produce a deployment of illegal alien attorneys has gained momentum. The DREAM Bar Association is continuing its campaign, in all fifty states, to have legislation passed and rules promulgated in order to ensure the creation of these "undocumented lawyers".
