US Air Force: Captain Brandon L. Cyr

Captain Brandon L. Cyr, twenty-eight of Woodbridge, Virginia, died on April 27.

He and three others were killed when the MC-12 aircraft, that they were in, crashed near Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan.

Cyr was assigned to the 906th Air Refueling Squadron out of Scott Air Force Base, Illinois.

The Captain had over seventeen hundred hours flying, with nine hundred of them being in combat.

US Air Force: Captain Reid K. Nishizuka

Captain Reid K. Nishizuka, thirty of Kailua, Hawaii, died on April 27.

He and three others were killed when the MC-12 aircraft, that they were in, crashed near Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan.

The Captain had served multiple tours in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Nishizuka was assigned to the 427th Reconnaissance Squadron out of Beale Air Force Base, California.

Colorado Police Use Teargas to Disperse Street Party

Fort Collins police ended up having to use tear gas to clear a street party, Saturday night.

Over three hundred people were partying near Colorado State University, when police arrived.

When police asked them to leave the crowd began to throw bottles, cans, and other objects at the officers.

They also began to climb onto cars, street lights, and trees.

Police called for back up and ended up using tear gas and pepper spray to disperse what had begun to become a mob.

Three party goers were treated for minor injuries and released, no officers were hurt.

2013 Nissan Altima Being Recalled

Nissan has announced the recall of 123,308 Altimas from 2013.

Spare tires may be over or under inflated, increasing the risk of a crash.

No accidents or injuries have been reported, the recall is merely a precaution.

Dealers will notify owners beginning on May 3, inspect the vehicles, and adjust the tire pressure for free.

Apartment Explosion in France Kills 3

Three people were killed and fourteen injured when a gas explosion tore through a five story apartment building.

The blast knocked off the end of the building in Reims, France.

Two more residents are missing, with ten of the apartments destroyed.

Over a hundred emergency personnel, including a bomb squad with bomb sniffing dogs, responded to the scene.

3 Italians Injured in Politically Motivated Shooting

Two Italian military police officers and a bystander were shot in front of the Prime Minister's offices, on Sunday.

One of the officers is in critical condition, after being shot in the neck.

Doctors are extremely concerned as the bullet injured his spine causing damage.

Police arrested Luigi Preiti, for the shooting.

According to police he attempted to commit suicide, but had already fired all of his bullets.

They also stated that Preiti said he shot at police when he realized they were blocking his path to the politicians who were his targets.

Gunmen Surround Libyan Foreign Ministry

More than a hundred gunmen entered Tripoli, Libya, on Sunday, and surrounded the foreign ministry.

They blocked the roads towards the building with trucks carrying anti aircraft guns.

The gunmen are demanding that the government block all officials who served under Qaddafi be blocked from working in the new government.

Once their demands are met, they say they will peaceably leave.

Prime Minister Ali Zeidan called upon the people of Libya to stand with the government against "people who want to destabilize the country".

His government had promised to remove all Qaddafi era officials, in March, but did not fulfill the promise.

Syrian Rebels Focus on Taking Airfields

Syrian rebels launched concerted attacks upon air fields held by government troops, on Sunday.

They hope to eliminate the regime's air power, making the fighting more even.

Government media claimed that they had repelled the attacks, while inflicting severe damages to the rebel forces.

The rebels stated that they were able to take sections of each of the bases.

12 Killed in Pre Election Attacks in Pakistan

A series of bombings aimed at politicians and rallies killed twelve, in Pakistan.

Around one hundred people were injured in the five explosions.

All of the blasts targeted political rallies, candidate's offices, or the candidates themselves.

 The attacks came as Pakistan readies for elections on May 11.

A spokesman for the Taliban was quick to claim the attacks as theirs.

4 More Rescued From Collapsed Building in Dhaka

Rescue efforts continue at the site of the building collapse in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Four more people were rescued, on Sunday, and searchers are working on freeing more survivors that have been found.

Efforts were hampered for a time when a fire broke out, caused by sparks from cutting tools, but crews were able to put it out.

Three hundred and seventy-seven bodies have been found, out of the more than three thousand who were inside the building, when it came crashing down on Wednesday. Hundreds more are still missing, unfortunately hopes for most of them are slim. Five garment factories, a market, and other businesses were housed inside of the structure.

The owner of the factory was arrested, on Sunday, when he tried to cross the border into India. He is facing charges of faulty construction and causing unlawful death.
