1 Navy Seal Killed, 7 Injured in Training Accident

A Navy SEAL was killed and seven others were injured in a training accident, on Wednesday.

It happened at Fort Knox, Kentucky, when a Humvee flipped over.

All seven of the injured were treated and released from the hospital.

The military did not release word of the accident, until Friday.

Exact details are not being released while the accident is under investigation.

Iran's Council of Guardians Blocks Candidates Who Support Relations With The US

Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati made it very clear where Iran wants to go in the future, on Friday.

At prayers he said that the Council of Guardians, which he heads, will not permit any presidential candidates who would seek to have any kind of relations with the US.

Some candidates had proposed working with the US, in hopes of seeing sanctions removed.

The Council of Guardians decides who can and can not run in elections.

Six hundred and eighty-six people have submitted themselves as candidates.

On Thursday, the Council stated that women could not run, blocking thirty who had applied.

Bombs Strike Inside Secure Afghanistan Neighborhood Killing 9

A car bomb and a motorcycle bomb hit the Aino Mina neighborhood of Kabul, on Friday.

Between the two explosions, nine people were killed and seventy injured.

Authorities say that both bombs were triggered by remote detonators.
The wealthy Aino Mina complex was thought to have been the most secure residential area, in the country.

Officials are investigating to find out what part of their security failed.

A strike inside of the area was mostly to make a point that nowhere is safe.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack, making it very likely that it wasn't the Taliban.

13 Killed in Pakistan Mosque Bombings

Explosions through two mosques in northwestern Pakistan, on Friday.

Thirteen people were killed and thirty injured when the blasts hit the town of Baz Darra.

It was the first terrorist attack in the country, since the election took place.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attacks, and officials are unsure who would've hit the isolated Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.

The Malakand region has seen very little of the violence which has plagued the country.

63 Killed by Bombings in Iraq

Sixty three people were killed and one hundred and six were injured by bombings in Iraq, on Friday.

Eight bombs struck in six separate attacks, in five cities.

Most of them targeted Sunni mosques or funeral processions for those killed in Wednesday and Thursday's violence.

Friday's death toll was worse than Wednesday and Thursday's combined.

All combined the three days have seen one hundred and nineteen killed.

Most of the attacks have gone unclaimed, but they have shown the growing divide between Sunnis and Shiites, in the Middle East.

US Army: Sergeant 1st Class Trenton L. Rhea

Sergeant 1st Class Trenton L. Rhea, thirty-three of Oakley, Kansas died on May 15.

He drowned during combat in Kandahar, Afghanistan.

Rhea had been assigned to the 603rd Military Police Company, 530th Military Police Battalion, 300th Military Police Brigade, 200th Military Police Command out of Belton, Missouri.

Police Called to Separate Whovians Threatening to Battle Star Wars Fans

It seems that the galaxy may not be such a peaceful place, after all.

Police in Norwich, England were called about a fight at the University of East Anglia. They arrived to find Star Wars and Doctor Who fans squared off, against each other.

A scifi convention was being put on by the Norwich Star Wars Club. Over a thousand people attended the event, including two actors from the Doctor Who series.

When Doctor Who fans spotted the actors, they mobbed them asking for autographs. The Star Wars organizers of the event came to the actors' rescue. Whovians took exception to this and words were exchanged. Reinforcements came to the side of the force, leading to the face off between the two fan bases.

After watching security cameras, the police determined, that as no one had been even touched, no charges would be pressed. They did warn the two groups to stay apart and keep it peaceful.

6 Dead After 13 Tornadoes Hit Texas

Six people were killed and at least sixteen injured on Wednesday night when a tornado struck the town of Granbury, Texas.

Seven more people are still missing, as crews search through the rubble of houses destroyed by the twister.

Thirty-six homes and buildings were destroyed, with forty-seven more damaged.

Other areas were hit by at least twelve more tornadoes, but none of them caused more than minor damage and no injuries.

Harper Says Canadian Oil Will Travel Through US One Way or Another

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper made it quite clear, to the Obama administration, where things stand.

While visiting New York, on Thursday, he very publicly stated that Canadian oil will travel through the US, no matter what, even if another method has to be used.

The Obama administration has been dragging it's heels on authorizing the use of the Keystone XL Pipeline to bring oil from Alberta down through the US to Texas.

Most of the states involved have not only approved their own parts, but have finished their construction.

Around eight hundred thousand barrels a day would be carried by the pipeline, greatly helping the economies of Canada, the US, and each of the states involved.

Harper's government has made it clear that they consider the pipeline of the the utmost importance and it has been stated that if Obama does not approve it, by this summer, "irreparable harm" will be done to relations between the governments.

Ultra Orthodox Jews Protest Draft

Around twenty thousand Ultra Orthodox Jews protested near Jerusalem's draft bureau, on Thursday.

They faced off against police and demanded that the government back down from it's plans to include the Ultra Orthodox in the draft.

For most of the protest things were peaceful, except for the burning of trash cans, but at one point they did attack the police.

Six officers were injured, with two requiring trips to the hospital, as the protesters threw bottles and rocks.

Police responded with stun grenades, a water cannon, and thirteen arrests.
Currently, Ultra Orthodox Jews receive exemptions based on their religious studies.

However, the government has pledged that the exemptions will end, as a way to spread out responsibilities, since almost all men and women are drafted for up to three years.

Ultra Orthodox leaders have promised that any draft orders will be defied.
