Cow Causes Crash at Indonesia Airport

A cow caused an airplane crash in Indonesia.

An aircraft belonging to Lion Air was coming into land at Jalaluddin airport, when the pilot thought he saw dogs on the runway.

However, they turned out to be three cows.

One of the wheels came down on one of the cows, crushing it, and causing the plane to skid off the runway.

None of the one hundred and ten passengers, aboard the plane, were hurt.

The airport was closed for a time afterwards, but reopened once the runway was cleared and the plane towed to the airport.

Japan's Government Joins Fukushima Cleaning Efforts

The Japanese government has jumped in to find a way to stop water from leaking at the Fukushima nuclear plant.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe ordered the government involvement.

He cited the emergency nature of the situation as well as pointed to the failures of Tepco in handling the matter.

Tepco has been working on repairing the plant, since it was damaged two and a half years ago, in an earthquake.
  
Until recently, they had been denying that there was any leak at all, but lately have given up trying to hide the fact.

Government officials say that as much as three hundred tons of radioactive water is reaching the Pacific Ocean, every day.

However, they do not believe it has been leaking that much for the entire two and a half years, stating that radiation levels would be much worse if that was the case.

It is unclear when exactly the leaking began and increased to such a degree, or what caused this to occur.

Computer Glitch Shuts Down Denver International Airport's Information Boards

Denver International Airport is struggling on Tuesday, as a computer glitch affects flight information.

After over night maintenance, the system has been unable to display information correctly.

The issue is also affecting the airport's website.

To avoid confusion, the airport has shut down the information boards and placed staff near them, to answer questions.

They are telling people to use airline's sites, for the flight information.

No other systems have been affected, so otherwise the airport is operating normally.

Information boards will be turned back on, once the error has been found and fixed.

Missouri Flooding Kills 1 and Causes State of Emergency

Governor Jay Nixon declared a state of emergency for parts of southern Missouri.

The area was hit by heavy rains and flooding late Monday night and into Tuesday morning.

One child was killed by the raging waters.

Dozens of homes, businesses, and other buildings were damaged in the flooding.

Helicopters are assisting in rescue efforts as several towns are underwater.

3 Dead 3 Wounded After Pennsylvania Shooting

Three people were killed and another three were wounded in a shooting in Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania.

A man came out of his car shooting his rifle, Monday night, at a town meeting.

He shot twenty-three rounds, killing three and wounding two, before going back to his car for a .44 Magnum.

As he reentered the building, two men jumped him and took the gun away from him.

During the struggle, the gunman was shot in the leg.

According to authorities, the man and the town council had an eighteen year long feud, which led to the shooting.

On Tuesday, he was charged with three counts of murder and two of attempted murder.

US and UK Close Embassies in Yemen Over Threat Level

Both the US and UK have pulled their staffs out of their embassies in Yemen, and urged their citizens to leave the country.

Yemen itself has majorly increased their security measures, deploying hundreds of armored vehicles throughout the capital.

This comes as the US continues it's embassy withdrawals in Muslim countries, due to heightened threat levels.

According to sources, the CIA intercepted a phone conversation between high level members of Al Qaeda.

The conversation made it clear that a terrorist attack was imminent, but not exactly where or when it would occur.

For now, the US and other western nations consider pulling out of the embassies to be a necessary precaution.

6 Car Bombs in Iraq Kill 35

A series of six car bombs struck around the Baghdad area, on Tuesday, killing thirty-five and injuring at least ninety.

Most of them were in Baghdad itself, though one was on the outskirts, and another in a suburb.

All of the explosions came from parked cars.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attacks, but they are being blamed on Sunni militants.

India Says 5 Soldiers Killed in Ambush

Indian soldiers patrol the border

India claims that five of it's soldiers were killed in an ambush.

They also say that it was carried out by people dressed as Pakistani soldiers.

A sixth soldier survived the attack and gave witness to the statement.

Pakistan denies involvement, and went further to say that their border guards did not even witness any shooting.

This is the seventh time this year that there has been an incident, along the border.

2 People Killed After Crashing Into Horse on Interstate 76 in Colorado

Two people were killed and three injured in an accident involving a horse, on Interstate 76, in Colorado.

The accident occurred late Sunday night, forcing the closure of the highway until Monday morning.

A van struck the horse, which had wandered onto the freeway, injuring the driver and killing the passenger.

Another van then struck the horse, killing that driver.

Two more people were injured when their car struck the second van.

All of the injured were taken to Colorado Plains Medical Center.

Authorities said that the horse was killed in the incident.

Escaped Python Kills 2 Children in New Brunswick

Two children were killed by an escaped python in Campbellton, New Brunswick.

The python managed to escape it's enclosure at Reptile Ocean.

It then crawled through ventilation in the building, and ended up falling through the ceiling of the second floor.

Three boys were having a sleep over, and the snake strangled two of them.

Their bodies and the snake were found Monday morning, when they were checked in on by one of the boy's father.

Authorities are not pressing charges, at this time, and consider it to be a tragic accident.

The victims were five and seven years old.
