Beaver Creek Fire Forces Thousands of Evacuations in Idaho

Authorities in Idaho have ordered the evacuation of more than sixteen hundred homes, due to the Beaver Creek Fire.

At over sixty-four thousand acres the fire continues to be spread through dry areas as it is pushed by winds.

Sixteen hundred firefighters are being aided by aircraft in battling the blaze.

It was started by lightning on August 7.

Officials consider it twenty percent contained, despite it's recent growth and the new evacuations.

Boat Accident Kills 8 in Siberia

Eight people were killed and forty-seven injured in a boating accident, in Siberia.

A passenger boat collided with a barge, Saturday afternoon.

Fifty-six people were aboard the craft when the incident occurred.

An investigation is underway, to determine the cause of the crash, however it is believed that the captain of the ship was drunk.

Security Forces Clear Al-Fateh Mosque in Cairo

Security forces raided and forced everyone out of the Al-Fateh mosque, in Cairo, on Saturday.

Since violence drastically escalated, on Wednesday, the mosque had been used as a makeshift hospital for those injured in the clashes.

However, on Friday night protesters began fortifying it and Saturday morning saw gunmen move to balconies on the tower and fire on security forces.

The sniping forced officials to act and order the clearing of the mosque.

Shots were exchanged during the entering and clearing of the building, but no deaths were reported.

Philippines Suspend Search for Survivors of Ferry Crash

Authorities in the Philippines have suspended the search for survivors of Friday night's ferry accident, due to weather issues.

Thirty-two people are confirmed dead and another one hundred and seventy are still missing.

Originally officials had said that there were six hundred and ninety-two people aboard, but it was even more over loaded with eight hundred and thirty-one aboard.

They also changed the information on how quickly it sank from thirty minutes down to ten.

Police Wound Man Who Was Shooting in a Denver Street

Friday morning, Denver police received a phone call from a man who said he wanted to have a shoot out with them.

So warned, they approached the 2200 block of South Irving Street, with extreme caution.

When police arrived, they found a man armed with a rifle, who had placed propane tanks in the middle of the street.

He shot at the tanks, managing to get one to explode.

An officer shot and wounded the man, diffusing the situation.

Police closed down and evacuated the area, and called in the bomb squad, who found several more explosive devices, including at least one hand grenade.

Inside the man's home, they found two women, both of whom had been shot.

One of the women was dead, but the other was taken to the hospital for treatment.

No officers were harmed during the incident.

Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge Partially Closed After Truck Fire in NYC

One of New York's busiest bridge was shut down for part of Friday and won't be fully open til Sunday morning.

A truck caught fire on the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge.

Firefighters battled the blaze for nearly two hours.

Traffic in the area was backed up for most of the day, due to the incident.

No one was injured, however the bridge suffered minor damage, to that section, causing the partial closure.

This was the second time this year that the bridge was closed due to a truck catching fire.

Republicans to Boycott NBC and CNN Debates

The Republican National Committee voted on Friday to boycott any 2016 presidential debates on NBC or CNN.

Both networks are planning television tributes to Hilary Clinton, the expected Democrat nominee for the 2016 election.

Republican leaders feel that this shows the bias of those networks.

They also feel that it is the networks attempt to sway voters.

The RNC says it will work with NBC and CNN if the networks decide to not air the Clinton specials.

5.4 Earthquake Shakes Mexico

A 5.4 earthquake shook Mexico, on Friday morning.

The quake occurred six miles northeast of Ometepec.

No damages or injuries were reported, due to the quake.

Several government buildings in Mexico City were evacuated while inspections took place.

17 Dead More Than 100 Missing After Ferry Sinks in the Philippines

Seventeen people are dead and over a hundred are missing after a ferry sank in the Philippines.

A cargo ship and the ferry collided on Friday night, within half an hour the ferry had sank.

Six hundred and ninety-two people were on the ferry, when the accident occurred.

The cargo ship did not suffer serious damage or any injuries to it's crew of thirty-six.

6.5 Quake Rocks New Zealand

A 6.5 earthquake rocked New Zealand on Friday afternoon.

It happened on the eastern tip of the southern big island.

Several aftershocks followed the main quake.

Buildings on both of the main islands, knocking out power to some areas, but causing no major damage.

As a precaution, train services were suspended while all tracks were checked for damage.
