Injured Kangaroo Heads Right For Pharmacy

Pharmacy workers had an unexpected guest in Melbourne, Australia, on Wednesday.

An injured kangaroo, who had been hit by a car, made his way across the street into the Melbourne Airport.

Once inside he headed directly for the airport's pharmacy, where he waited calmly for help.

Wildlife workers tranquilized him, as a precaution, and transported him to a veterinarian.

The kangaroo is expected to make a full recovery.

It is unclear why the kangaroo chose the pharmacy, but it clearly went there for help.

Afghanistan Provincial Governor Killed by Microphone Bomb

An Afghan provincial governor was assassinated, on Tuesday morning, as he spoke at a mosque in Logar province.

A bomb had been hidden in the microphone and exploded as he began to talk.

Fifteen people, who were nearby, were injured in the blast.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Forty-seven year old Arsala Jamal, a Canadian citizen, had held several positions in the Afghan government.

As governor he had been trying to lessen the Taliban's influence, in the province.

He had survived four previous attacks on his life and was a strong ally of President Hamid Karzai.

99 Killed in Philippines Quake

A 7.2 earthquake struck the Philippines on Tuesday morning.

Initially the government had said there was only minor damage and no injuries, however that quickly changed.

Ninety-nine deaths have been confirmed due to the earthquake.

Two hundred and seventy-six others were injured, mostly by falling objects.

Buildings and roads were destroyed and landslides also caused major damage to various areas.

Massive search and rescue efforts are underway to search for more people trapped under rubble.

Both Bohol and Cebu have been listed as being in a state of calamity.

US Army: Staff Sergeant Patrick H. Quinn

Staff Sergeant Patrick H. Quinn, twenty-six of Quarryville, Pennsylvania, died on October 13.

He was killed in combat, in Paktika province, Afghanistan.

Quinn was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group out of Fort Carson, Colorado.

Among his completed courses were: Northern Warfare Course, Combatives Level 2, Combat Life Saver Course, Warrior Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, Basic Military Mountaineering School, Airborne School, Special Forces Qualification Course.

His decorations include: Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with campaign star, NATO Medal, four Army Commendation Medals, Army Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, two Army Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with two campaign stars, Global War on Terror Service Medal, two NonCommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbons, Army Service Ribbon, two Overseas Service Ribbons, Special Forces Tab, Parachutist Badge, Combat Infantryman Badge.

Kidnappers Release 1 Red Crescent and 3 Red Cross Members in Syria

Four of the seven aid workers kidnapped, in Syria, on Sunday, have been released.

The kidnappers released the member of the Red Crescent and three of the six members of the Red Cross that they had taken.

Their release was confirmed by the International Committee of the Red Cross, but no further details were released.

They have not released any information about the identity of those kidnapped, nor their nationalities.

It is still yet unknown who kidnapped the aid workers.

Court in Malaysia Rules Only Muslims Can Use Allah

The Malaysian court of appeals ruled, on Monday, that only Muslims can use the word Allah.

This overturned a 2009 court ruling that continued to allow all Malaysians to use the word.

For centuries Allah has been the word all faiths use for God, to the point where it is even printed in Bibles.

Muslims consider the ruling a major victory in separating themselves from the other faiths.

Leaders from other faiths say it's a sign of oppression and note the difficulties it will cause them.

7.4 Quake Shakes The Philippines

A 7.4 earthquake shook the Philippines, Tuesday morning.

The quake struck off the coast of Bohol island.

No tsunami warnings were issued, due to the quake.

Minor damage was reported in various parts of the county, but no one was injured, according to initial reports.

College Party Goers Clash With Police in Washington

A college party in Bellingham, Washington got out of hand, late Saturday night.

Police shut down the party, only to have the drunk crowd move to a nearby park.

Witnesses say that at least five hundred people were there by midnight.

Early Sunday morning, a reinforced police presence moved in ordering people to leave.

The crowd quickly turned to mob and began throwing objects at officers who responded with pepper spray.

Order was eventually restored, with three arrested.

No reports of injuries came out of the incident.

The University of Washington says they are reviewing surveillance footage, and will prosecute any students found to be involved.

Barricades Fall to Protesters in DC

Thousands of veterans and protesters stormed the barricades around the WWII Memorial, in DC, on Sunday morning.

The barricades were taken down and pushed aside, while other protesters, driving big rig trucks, drove the streets.

WWII veterans were first allowed access to the memorial remembering the war they fought in.

Patriotic songs were sung as flags were waved and then Senator Ted Cruz, Senator Mike Lee, and former Governor Sarah Palin spoke to the crowd.

They thanked the vets for their presence, reminded them that this was their memorial and country, and reprimanded the Obama administration for placing the barricades.

After the speeches, the protest moved to the White House, carrying the barricades with them.

Riot police met them at the White House, where the barricades were dumped.

By late afternoon the barricades had been put back around the memorial.

Many veterans and protesters pledged to return next weekend.

200 Arrested After Moscow Riot

Over two hundred were arrested after a riot broke out in Moscow, on Sunday.

It was centered in Biryulevo when thousands marched in protest against immigrants.

As police showed up to block their way it swiftly went from angry to violent.

Dozens of shops were broken into and cars and dumpsters were flipped and or burned.

At least one police officer was injured, however no information on rioters being injured was available.

Extra police have been called into the area, to maintain peace.
