Nevada School Shooting Leaves 2 Dead

A shooting took place at Sparks Middle School, in Sparks, Nevada, on Monday.

Authorities say a student brought a hand gun to school.

Just before school was to start, the student shot a teacher and two other students, before turning the gun on himself.

Both the shooter and the teacher died, from their wounds.

No motive is yet known for the shooting, and the identity of the shooter has not yet been released.

The teacher has been identified as Mike Landsberry, a math teacher.

Landsberry was a former Marine and a member of the Nevada Air National Guard who had served multiple tours of duty in Afghanistan.

France Complains About US Spy Programs

Relations between the US and France took a strained toned on Monday.

Another set of Snowden leaks were released, showing that the NSA spied on French phone calls and text messaging.

According to the leaks, more than seventy million calls and several million texts were intercepted.

France called the American ambassador for discussions about the issue.

However, some political analysts note that France is accused of running similar spy programs.

They suggest that the French government is attempting to distract the French people from their own spying, by waving the US's same plots.

Suicide Bomber Kills 6 in Russia

A suicide bomber struck in Volgograd, Russia, on Monday.

The attack happened on a bus, in the afternoon.

Six people were killed, including the bomber, and thirty-three injured in the blast.

According to witnesses, the bomber was a woman.

No group has claimed the attack.

Terrorists Bomb Passenger Train in Pakistan

As the Jaffar Express entered Balochistan province, Pakistan, three explosions knocked the train off the tracks.

Three bombs had been planted on the tracks and went off as the train crossed them.

The explosions derailed the train and tore the tracks apart.

Seven people were killed and sixteen seriously wounded, in the attack.

No one has claimed responsibility for the bombing.

Typhoon Wipha Kills 28 in Japan

Twenty-eight people are confirmed dead and eighteen are missing on Izu Oshima.

The Japanese island took the full force of Typhoon Wipha, over the weekend.

Search and rescue crews were only able to get out on Monday, as the storm weakened enough to remove evacuations.

Nearly two thousand members of the Defense Forces have been dispatched to aid in the searches and recovery efforts.

Residents are being warned that more evacuations are coming, as Typhoon Francisco is approaching Japan.

USMC: Lance Corporal Christopher O. Grant

Lance Corporal Christopher O. Grant, twenty of Richwood, Louisiana, died on October 20.

He was killed in combat in Helmand province, Afghanistan.

It was his first deployment.

Grant was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 9th Marines, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force out of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

Raymond Bears Down on Mexico

Tropical Storm Raymond is bearing down on Mexico's western coast.

Raymond should make landfall Monday night or Tuesday morning.

It's increasing strength means it could strike as hurricane.

Acapulco, which is still cleaning up from last month's deadly visit by Hurricane Manuel, is right in the path of Raymond.

The storm could bring up to six inches of rain and wind gusts nearing one hundred miles per hour.

Luxembourg Holds Elections

Luxembourgers hit the polls, on Sunday.

Thirty-three percent of them voted to keep the CSV in power.

Their coalition partners, the socialist LSAP, took twenty percent of the vote.

The liberal DP took eighteen percent, maintaining it's position as the leading member of the opposition.

Expectations are for the coalitions to remain the same, though the DP is hoping to bring the LSAP over to it's side.

That coalition, combined with the Greens, would be able to take control from the CSV.

However, that situation is unlikely.

60 Injured in Montenegro Riot

Sixty people were injured during a riot in Podgorica, Montenegro.

Sunday's riot occurred when protesters attempted to attack a gay rights march.

Police blocked their path, so the attackers turned on the officers.

Twenty police officers were injured, as were forty of their attackers.

Officials and gay rights activists praised the police for their success in protecting the parade.

Clashes Break Out Between Students and Police in Cairo

Clashes broke out in Cairo, between protesters and police, on Sunday.

A protests was carried out by hundreds of students, on the al-Azhar University.

Police showed up, but only kept an eye on the students, while they were on the campus.

However, when the students tried to spread their protest, outside of the university, police blocked their path.

This led to stones being thrown by protesters, while police responded with tear gas.

There were no reports of injuries, from the confrontation.
