An unknown rebel group attacked Iranian border guards in Sistan Baluchistan province.
Fourteen guards were killed and at least that many injured, in Saravan.
Officials say that the attackers fled into Pakistan, after the attack.
No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, and several rebel groups are active in the area.
In retaliation for the attack, the Iranian government hanged sixteen rebel prisoners, that were already in their custody.

2 Wounded Kidnap Victims Rescued After California Chase
A gunman led police in California on an hour long chase, Friday morning.
It started when a Ridgecrest officer attempted to pull over the car, due to it's being connected to a murder investigation.
However, the driver did not stop but began shooting out his window.
The chase lasted for more than fifty miles, before officers were able to stop the vehicle.
They then exchanged fire with the gunman, who was shot and killed.
Inside the trunk of his car, police found a man and woman, both of whom had been shot by the suspect, before the chase began.
No information on the condition of the two victims, has been released.

2 Guardsmen Shot at Tennessee Naval Base
A shooting took place at Naval Support Activity Mid-South, in Millington, Tennessee, on Thursday afternoon.
Two National Guardsmen were shot by a third, after an argument.
Other Guardsmen disarmed the shooter, before police arrived.
Neither of the victims were seriously injured.
While the shooter has not been identified, it was reported that he was a recruiter who had been relieved of duty.
The base was placed on a lock down for about two hours, after the shooting.

5 Injured at North Carolina State Fair
Five people were hurt when a ride malfunctioned at the North Carolina State Fair, Thursday night.
Two of the injured were in critical condition.
Officials announced, on Friday, that the ride had failed an inspection, on Monday.
A full investigation is underway, with criminal charges being considered.

Alberta School Bus Crash Injures 10
A school bus and a pickup truck collided east of Crossfield, Alberta, on Friday morning.
The bus driver and nine school children were injured, in the accident.
Three of the children, including one who was airlifted, are in critical condition.
Authorities praised witnesses who not only called 911, but stopped to comfort the children, while help was on the way.

Juarez Candy Factory Explosion Kills 2
Two people were killed when an explosion ripped through a candy factory in Juarez, Mexico.
Thirty-three more were injured, six of whom are in critical condition, and one person is still missing.
Three hundred people were at work in the factory, at the time of the explosion.
The explosion occurred on the second floor and caused a section of the floor to collapse onto the lower level.
It is believed that the explosion was caused by a steam boiler.
