Cheese Causing Listeria Being Recalled

Frescolina brand ricotta salata from Forever Cheese seem to be the latest cause of listeria in the US.

There have been three deaths and fourteen others have been hospitalized spread out amongst eleven states.

The cheese was sold, between June 9 and August 20, by grocery stores and served by restaurants in California, Colorado, Washington D.C., Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that any one who still has the cheese dispose of it.

Former Soldiers Arrested In Terror Plot

A group of former US Soldiers from Fort Stewart, GA were arrested. Current evidence indicates they allegedly conducted illegal activities such as murder, home invasions and burglaries. The suspected intentions behind those crimes were to finance stockpiling weapons and equipment to support a plot to overthrow the US Government.

The group called itself Forever Enduring Always Ready (FEAR), naming itself in a manner that leaves little doubt they sought to employ terror as a weapon. They are an aspiring domestic terrorist group and a domestic enemy of the US Constitution. Their murders include killing a former Soldier who left the military in order to help the group to acquire weapons. They also killed his wife. Members of the group allegedly also participated in tampering with evidence and attempting to hinder investigations.

To take an oath to support and defend the US Constitution means to support the republic's electoral process for all elected offices. To plot to overthrow such is to break that sacred oath to the US Constitution. It crosses that line from ultimate fidelity and into ultimate, disgraceful dishonor.

Nearly 300 Dead After Pakistani Fire

Nearly three hundred people were killed when a clothing factory caught fire in Karachi, Pakistan.

Currently two hundred and eighty-nine people are listed amongst the dead, but that total is expected to rise as around five hundred suffered burns.

Others suffered smoke inhalation and various other injuries, witnesses even reported some jumped from the top of the building to escape the flames.

Firefighters had issues fighting the blaze as other parts of the structure were unstable, and there were worries of a collapse.

The blaze was finally brought under control, ending fears that it would spread through the city.

Women Injures Five With Knife in NYC Subway

At around 8:45 EDT, a woman pulled out a knife in a New York City subway station and began slashing bystanders.

New York police were quick to disarm and arrest the woman, but not before five people were injured.

All five were taken to Jamaica Hospital and are listed in stable condition.

The attack occurred on the E train platform at the Sutphin Boulevard/Archer Avenue Station.

E, J, and Z trains bypassed the station while police investigated, but have been reopened.

The Film That Set Off Deadly Islamist Protests

On Tuesday, Libyan militants killed four Americans and burned down the US consulate in Benghazi, and an angry mob attacked the embassy in Cairo, Egypt.

The groups waved Al Qaeda flags and chanted Al Qaeda slogans.

Their spokesmen stated that they were protesting a film which mocks the prophet Muhammad.

It took awhile for the film to be identified, but it's now been discovered to be one called "Innocence of Muslims".

The two hour film made by Sam Bacile, who lives in California and describes himself as an Israeli Jew, was funded by more than a hundred Jewish donors, and cost five million dollars to make.

In various trailers, a badly amateur cast portrays Muhammad in a rather unflattering light, to make an understatement.

Apparently not even all of those who funded it bothered to see it, in it's one nearly empty showing, earlier this year.

Bacile has now gone into hiding after the attacks.

Denver Police Peacefully Resolve Another Hostage Situation

Wednesday morning Denver Police warned people away from Santa Fe Drive between West Second and West Third Avenues.

Officers had reported to a domestic violence call and when they arrived, they were fired upon.

SWAT and negotiators eventually worked out a release of a hostage around one in the afternoon.

Not long after that the shooter gave himself up to police.

No one was injured during the incident.

Denver Center for International Studies, Fairmont Dual Language Immersion Academy, and Ace Community Challenge School were all locked down due to the situation.

US Ambassador Among Dead in Benghazi

US Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens was one of four Americans killed when the US consulate in Benghazi was attacked Tuesday night, several Libyan security forces were killed as well.

The US embassy's site stated that Stevens "was the American representative to the Transitional National Council in Benghazi during the revolution".

Heavily armed Islamists, chanting Al Qaeda slogans as they went, drove off the Libyan security forces.

They proceeded to burn the compound, killing the ambassador, Foreign Service Information Management Officer Sean Smith, and two as of yet unidentified consulate workers.

Video and pictures showed the bodies of the four, being carried around by their murderers.

Libyan and US security forces reportedly were driven off a second time by the militants, after a heavy fire fight.

Eventually US and Libyan security forces, joined by a local pro American militia, were able to retake the compound and reclaim the bodies of the dead.

A specially trained anti terror unit of Marines has now been shipped out to protect the US embassy in Tripoli.

Obama Too Busy to Meet Netanyahu, But Adds Letterman Spot

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to attend the UN near the end of September. As he was going to be in the states, he asked if he could meet with President Barack Obama.

The White House told him that Obama would be too busy to make it up to New York. Netanyahu then offered to fly down to DC to meet with him. At which time he was told Obama would be too busy to even meet under those circumstances.

Press in Israel quickly stated that Obama was trying to snub Netanyahu, which the White House denies. However, as Israel is one of our most important allies shouldn't meeting with them under any circumstances being considered a top priority, especially when they request it? And considering the very unstable times in the Middle East, specifically over Iran, a meeting is all the more important right now. It's also of note that this would mark the first time that an Israeli Prime Minister has made a trip to the US, without having a meeting with the sitting President.

On Wednesday morning, Obama's staff announced that Obama is now flying out to be on the Letterman show. So it seems that whilst earlier in the week he was too busy to meet with Netanyahu, he's now not too busy to set up a chance to be on TV. O and just a reminder, Letterman is filmed in New York, which is exactly where Netanyahu will be.

Catalans March for Independence

At least a million people protested in Barcelona, on Tuesday, demanding an independent Catalonia.

Some estimates put the crowd at one and a half million.

Police were extremely grateful to see that the protest stayed peaceful throughout.

The crowds blame Spain for dragging them into massive debt, saying they could do better on their own.

According to a La Vanguardia survey, from Sunday, 51.1% of Catalans support independence.

Catalonia is the north eastern region of the country, and makes up at least twenty percent of Spain's economy.

Regional leader Artur Mas has a scheduled meeting with Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy, on September 20, to discuss lowering the amount of taxes the region pays.

Mas told the protesters that if a deal could not be worked out, then he would do all in his power to work towards independence for their new nation.

US Consulate Burned, 1 American Killed, Libyan Security Forces Repulsed by Militia

In an attack very similar to one which happened just hours ago, in Egypt, a mob in Benghazi, Libya attacked the US consulate, Tuesday night.

The protesters set the building on fire, damaging most of it.

Luckily it was after hours and so few were present, but one American staff member has been killed.

Libyan security forces attempted to push the mob away from the remnants of the consulate, but were repelled by heavy fire from militia forces.

The mob supposedly was protesting the same film that the Egyptians were saying mocked the prophet Muhammad.

No one is sure what movie supposedly sparked the protest.

Both attacks were likely organized by members of Al Qaeda, as the US remembers the eleventh anniversary of the terrorist group's attack on September 11.
