Man Arrested After Bragging About Murdering Centennial Woman

Late Wednesday night, a body was found in a Centennial, Colorado apartment.

Thursday, a man was arrested for the murder, after he was heard, in the apartment's parking lot, bragging about committing it.

Police identified the victim as thirty-nine year old Katrina Pacheco, who had a restraining order against the man.

Twenty-eight year old Arthur Price is being, held without bail, on charges of first degree murder, second degree assault, and violation of a restraining order.

Silver Fire Burns 14,000 Acres in a Day

California firefighters are battling yet another fire in the San Jacinto Mountains.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Silver Fire began near Banning.

The fast moving flames tore through at least twenty-nine structures, severely burnt one person and injured two others, and grew to more than fourteen thousand acres by Thursday night.

More than fifteen hundred firefighters and fifty-seven aircraft are battling the flames.

Authorities say that they do have twenty percent containment, on the fire.

Officials have ordered the evacuation of several communities: Cabazon, Mt. Edna, Poppet Flats, Silent Valley, Snow Creek, Twin Pines, Twin Pines Ranch, and Vista Grande.

4 People Killed, 4 Wounded in Dallas Shootings

Late Wednesday night, four people were killed and another four wounded in two shootings in the Dallas area.

Police arrested forty-four year old Erbie Bowser, at the scene of the second shooting.

He is being charged with four counts of murder and four of attempted murder.

It began at the home of his girlfriend, in Dallas.

His girlfriend and her daughter were killed, while her son and a family friend were wounded.

Bowser then is said to have driven to DeSoto, where his ex wife lives.

When he arrived there, he threw a grenade into the house, killed his ex wife and an ex girlfriend who was there, and wounded two young boys before he ran out of ammunition.

Neighbors were shocked by the incidents, calling Bowser a gentle giant, that they never would've thought to be capable of such violence.

Authorities spent Thursday investigating both crime scenes and Bowser's home.

Virginia's Great Bull Run

A drag strip south of Richmond, Virgina will be hosting it's own running of the bulls.

This version won't go through Pamplona, but down a quarter mile of track.

"The Great Bull Run" takes place on August 24 at the Virginia Motor Sports Park.

Participants will be required to purchase special insurance, before taking part.

Already over five thousand people have signed up for the event.

Organizers are hoping that it will go well enough for them to have it in at least ten cities, across the US.

Zimbabwe Election Commission Finds Voting Fraud

Zimbabwe's Election Commission has come out with proof of voter fraud, in the vote which took place on July 31.

President Robert Mugabe won the election with sixty-one percent of three and a third million votes.

His party also gained a two-thirds majority in parliament.

However, the evidence shows that three hundred and five thousand people were blocked from voting at polling stations.

Another two hundred and seven thousand people were "assisted" in casting their ballots, everyone of which voted for Mugabe.

Zimbabwe Election Support Network, a local observer group, says that they have found over a million more cases fraud, including duplicate names and dead people voting.

Morgan Tsvangirai, who had been running against Mugabe, had begun alleging that there was fraud even before polling stations had closed.

Now it appears that his accusations are not only correct, but that they might be backed up by the court system.

The courts have fourteen days to rule on the matter, now that the Election Commission has made their findings public.

British Teens Attacked With Acid in Tanzania

Two British teens were attack in a Zanzibar market.

They were volunteering at the St Monica nursery school, with the Art in Tanzania charity.

On Wednesday night, two men with a moped threw acid on the girls, in what authorities are calling a targeted attack.

Kirstie Trup and Katie Gee, both eighteen, were flown overnight to London for the treatment.

Both of them suffered severe burns, from the acid attack.

Tanzania's President, Jakaya Kikwete, called the incident, "a shameful attack that tarnishes the image of our country".

He has called for a complete investigation, including the questioning of Sheikh Ponda Issa Ponda, the head of the Council of the Islamic Organisation, a radical Muslim group.

Graveyard Bomb in Afghanistan Kills 14

Fourteen people were killed when a bomb went off in Nangarhar province, Afghanistan, on Thursday.

Women and children had gone to a graveyard to mourn a family member, when something triggered a bomb hidden nearby.

Seven women and seven children were killed in the explosion.

No one has claimed responsibility for the bombing, but authorities are blaming the Taliban.

Pakistan Suicide Bombing Leaves 30 Dead

Thirty people were killed in a suicide bombing in Quetta, Pakistan.

Thursday's attack struck a funeral for a police officer, who had been killed earlier in the day.

Twenty-one of the those killed were police officers themselves.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.

US Army: Specialist Nickolas S. Welch

Specialist Nickolas S. Welch, twenty-six of Mill City, Oregon, died on August 6, in Bethesda, Maryland.

He was wounded on July 23, when a suicide bomber attacked his unit's convoy, in Soltan Kheyl, Afghanistan.

Three other soldiers were killed in the attack.

Welch was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division out of Fort Stewart, Georgia.

Colorado Apartment Complex Bans Weapons on Property

A Colorado apartment complex is taking some major heat after they informed residents that guns would no longer be allowed on the property.

On August 1, Oakwood Apartments in Castle Rock sent out a letter with new community policies.

As part of the new policies, residents will no longer be allowed to "display, use, or possess any firearms or weapons of any kind, anywhere on the property".

Residents have until October 1 to give notice and vacate their homes or to remove any banned objects from the complex.

If they do not comply, they have been threatened with random searches and forcible evictions.

Some are saying that this is a violation of their 2nd amendment rights, which guarantees the right to own firearms.

Concerns are also that the property's ban on weapons will encourage the complex as a place for robbers to target.

Ross Management Group, which runs the apartments, argues that the decision is legal as they are their private property and therefore can make the rules for it.

They had no comment about the concerns of robbery risk, and ended the conversation when asked if kitchen knives were considered weapons.

By Wednesday evening, the apartments had been ordered to stand down from their gun ban, by Douglas County, which owns the complex.
