1 Killed, 4 Wounded in Stabbing at Texas Hospital

One person was killed and four wounded when a man began stabbing people in a Texas hospital, Tuesday morning.

It happened at the Good Shepherd Ambulatory Surgical Center in Longview.

Witnesses say that a man suddenly went berserk, screamed that he wouldn't let them kill his mother, pulled a hunting knife, and began stabbing people.

He managed to stab five people before security was able to bring him down.

A twenty-two year old suspect is under arrest one count of murder and four of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The fatality was a nurse, who protected patients by jumping between them and the man.

One of the other victims is in critical condition, another in good condition, and the other two were treated and released.

Officials are unsure what actually led to the attack.

France to Send 1,000 More Troops to CAR

On Tuesday, France announced that it will be sending a thousand more troops to the Central African Republic.

They will join four hundred troops, who are already present in the former colony.

French troops are part of an international effort to maintain the CAR's government and protect it from rebel forces.

During December, the African Union will be sending thirty-six hundred troops to fight as well.

France's decision comes after several international humanitarian organizations have declared the CAR to be in a humanitarian crisis.

US B52s End China's Latest Attempt on Japan's Senkaku Islands

Two US B52s flew over the East China Sea and the Senkaku Islands, on Tuesday.

The move was a direct challenge to China's latest attempt to expand it's territory.

On Saturday, China declared that a bigger than normal portion of the East China Sea, including the island chain, belonged in their air defense area.

Tuesday's flight by the US was strongly supported by Japan, who legally owns the islands.

China made no attempts to challenge the US aircraft, putting a quick end to their attempt to claim the area.

Thousands Protest in Ukraine

Thousands of Ukrainians protested in Kiev, on Monday.

They marched through the streets demanding that the government get back to joining the EU, instead of renewing ties with Russia.

Many fear that their government will give in to Russian pressure and fall back under Moscow's sway.

Russia has been threatening to boycott Ukrainian products if they join the EU.

Opposition leaders are vowing to protest every day until the government listens and joins the EU.

For the most part, the protests have been peaceful, but there have been some clashes with police, who have responded with tear gas.

18,000 Evacuated by Sinabung Volcano in Indonesia

More than eighteen thousand people have been forced to evacuate because of eruptions on Sumatra.

The Sinabung volcano began strong eruptions, causing the Indonesian government to announce mandatory evacuations.

No reports or injuries have been reported, and the government's preparations have been considered responsible for that.

Sinabung has shown no signs of slowing it's eruption, causing worries that it might not stop within the next three days, and outlast government emergency supplies.

Tens of Thousands Protest in Thailand

Tens of thousands of protesters marched through Bangkok, protesting against the government.

Protesters raided the offices of the Finance Ministry and began fortifying it.

They also made it into the grounds of the Foreign Ministry, but were unable to gain access to the inside of the building.

Police clashed with mobs and attempted to maintain order.

Organizers of the protest plan to carry on for weeks if necessary, saying they will only stop when the Prime Minister resigns.

2 Cargo Ships Sink Off China

In two separate incidents, two Chinese cargo ships went down off the coast of Shandong province.

Twenty-six sailors were aboard the two different vessels.

Three bodies have been recovered, while the other twenty-three are still missing.

A sudden strong storm is being blamed for the losses.

US Storm Kills 8

Eight people have been killed as a severe winter storm continues to strike the south western US.

The storm began dropping rain, snow, and freezing rain on Thursday.

Since then it has caused hundreds of accidents across five states.

Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas have all dealt with it, so far, as it slowly makes it way east.

Three people were killed in California, on Thursday, while one was killed in Arizona, on Friday.

On Saturday, one was killed in New Mexico and three in Texas.

China Once Again Tries to Claim Japan's Senkaku Islands

On Saturday, China once again made an illegal attempt to claim the Senkaku Islands, as theirs.

They announced a new East China Sea Air Defense Identification Zone, along their possessions in the area, but went further and also placed it over Japan's Senkaku Islands.

Any aircraft which fly into the zone, must receive clearance from China, however the islands are Japanese airspace.

This could easily lead to conflicting air paths and directions.

Japan quickly protested the new zone, calling it "totally unacceptable".

China has made multiple attempts to claim the islands for their self, all of which have been rebuffed politically by Japan.

The islands are also claimed by South Korea and Taiwan, however Japan does have proof of ownership, which they gained by buying them from the private owners, who were Japanese citizens.

Aurora Police Involved Shooting Leaves Suspect and Officer in the Hospital

A police involved shooting left both the suspect and officer in the hospital, on Friday, in Aurora, Colorado.

Police pulled over a vehicle, near Alameda and I-225 that was believed to be connected to a shop lifting incident at Best Buy.

When an officer got to the driver's door, the driver took off, hitting the officer with his car.

The officer managed to get a shot off, hitting the driver.

A chase lasted only two miles when the suspect pulled his vehicle over at the Iliff off ramp.

He surrendered to police, who arrested him and transported him to the hospital for a bullet wound to the leg.

Charges against him include second degree assault, vehicular eluding causing injury, and shoplifting.

Officer Jason Pray, who was struck by the suspect's car, was taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.

As is required by procedure, a full investigation of the incident is now underway.
