The photo sharing app claims that it has the right to use user's photos without paying them for the use, or even notifying them.
Facebook, who owns Instagram, would not just be sharing the pictures for free, but charging people and businesses to use them.
All photographs will become Instagram property on January 16.
The only way for users to not have their pictures used is to delete their accounts, by that time.
If they do so after that time, all photos will belong to Instagram, despite the account being gone.
Users of Instagram have not responded happily to the news.
Some have already delete their accounts, while many others have posted protest pictures.
Pretty much every other photo sharing app has specific clauses, in their contracts, which keep them from using anyone's photos for any purpose, without express permission.
