BMW Expands Recall to Japan and South Africa

BMW has expanded a recall to include Japan and South Africa.

The recall already included five hundred and seventy thousand vehicles in the US and Canada.

It now also includes one hundred thousand in Japan and fifty thousand in South Africa.

They are being recalled because a battery connector can fail which would cause the engine to stall.

The recall covers 2007-2011 3 Series convertibles, coupes, sedans, and wagons; 2008-2012 1 Series convertibles and coupes; 2012 X1s, and 2009-2011 Z4s.

One accident occurred, in Canada, because of the problem, but no injuries.
