| The Springs Fire reaches the ocean |
The fire, which on Thursday morning, has burnt fifteen buildings, a parking lot of RVs, and left a trail from the 101 to the Pacific Coast Highway.
More than a thousand firefighters are battling the blaze.
Santa Ana winds pushed the flames and are expected to do so again on Friday. Temperatures in the nineties and humidity below ten percent are going to help things either.
Hundreds of residents of the Deer Creek and Yerba Buena communities have been evacuated, with the fire threatening their homes, as well as the California State University Channel Islands campus.
Also in danger, from the blaze, is Naval Base Ventura County. The base hasn't been evacuated, but the personnel have been warned to stay indoors to avoid breathing in the smoke.
