Violence in Dagestan Kills 5

Five people were killed in two separate incidents in Dagestan, Russia, on Wednesday.

Three people were killed and two injured when unknown assailants open fired on a police car in the town of Buinaksk.

Officials did not release information stating if all of the victims were officers, or if some were bystanders.

Hours later, a bomb struck the capital city of Makhachkala, killing two and wounding two others.

According to reports, a package loaded with explosives had been abandoned on the street.

The package exploded when one of the four victims picked it up.

It is unclear if the two attacks were related.
