What started as peaceful protests turned into violent clashes, in Santiago, Chile.
High school students staged a sit in, at their schools, as a political protest demanding education reforms.
Early Thursday morning, police raided the schools, arresting one hundred and twenty-two people.
Soon after violence broke out in the streets as thousands formed mobs and began rioting.
The mob threw stones and Molotov cocktails at the police, who responded with tear gas and water cannons.
At least ten police officers and unknown civilians were injured before order was restored.
