Typhoon Soulik Kills 1 in Taiwan

Taiwanese officials have confirmed a death due to Typhoon Soulik, after a police officer was struck by bricks knocked off a building, by the storm.

Dozens more have been injured by falling objects or simply by the strength of the winds knocking the down.

Fifty thousand soldiers have been placed on standby to help with cleanup.

In China, more than three hundred thousand people have been evacuated from coastal regions, as the storm causes massive waves to strike the shore.

Reports of injuries and damage have already begun to come in.
