Typhoon Man-yi struck with winds over one hundred miles per hour and brought torrential rains.
Some areas saw rainfall of more than three inches an hour.
Seventy-three people were injured, three are missing, and hundreds of buildings, including homes, were damaged or destroyed.
Hundreds of thousands were forced or ordered to evacuate, due to the storm, including more than a quarter of a million people from Kyoto and ll eighty-one thousand in the town of Fukuchiyama.
Trains and flights, across the country, were cancelled or delayed.
