Emergency crews responded to the National Mall, in DC, on Friday.They were called due to a man being on fire.
Witnesses say that he dowsed himself with gasoline and then lit himself on fire.
The man was airlifted to a hospital and is in critical condition.
It happened near the National Air and Space Museum.
No motive is known, at this time, and the incident is under investigation.
