Pennsylvania Police Arrest Russian Teen for Possessing Weapon of Mass Destruction

Nineteen year old Vladislav Miftakhov, a Russian national, was arrested in Altoona, Pennsylvania on charges of possessing a weapon of mass destruction.

Police had been investigating a marijuana growing operation when they found a bomb and bomb making materials.

The bomb was safely defused and disassembled by a Pennsylvania State Police Bomb Squad.

Miftakhov is enrolled as a student at Penn State University, in Altoona.

He was charged with possessing a weapon of mass destruction, possessing instruments of crime, possessing incendiary devices, possessing prohibited offensive weapons, recklessly endangering another person, risking a catastrophe, and multiple drug offenses.

It is unclear what his motive or intended target was.

A federal investigation is now underway, alongside the local and state ones.
