Attempted Plane Hijacking Fails

A hijacking attempt was made on a Pegasus Airlines flight, on Friday.

While the plane was in the air, a passenger claimed he had a bomb in the baggage compartment.

He demanded the plane reroute to Sochi, Russia, where the Olympics are being held, instead of it's planned destination in Sabiha Gokcen, Turkey.

The pilots pretended to follow his demands, but continued on to Turkey, sending out a signal that they were being hijacked.

Upon it's landing, in Turkey, police rushed aboard the plane and arrested the would be hijacker.

Passengers were evacuated from the plane, and a search for any explosives was begun.

It is unclear what the man's plans or motive were.
