Threat Closes Schools in Netherlands

Schools in Leiden, Netherlands were closed on Monday after an anonymous threat was made.

The threat, which was posted online Sunday, promised to shoot students and teachers, but didn't name what school was the target.

As a precaution, the government ordered all schools closed, and placed police on each campus.

Police have made an arrest, but have not disclosed any further information in the matter.

Everything is expected to be reopen for classes, on Tuesday.

Fighting in Nigeria Leaves 187 Dead, 77 Injured

Fighting between Nigerian troops and militants with Boko Haram left one hundred and eighty-seven dead, in Baga, over the weekend.

Another seventy-seven were hospitalized from their wounds.

Hundreds more are missing, though most are thought to have simply fled from the fighting.

Over three hundred homes, in the area, were burnt down by the Islamist terrorist group.

Some reports stated that the militants used RPGs, in their attack, a sign that they are getting increased help from the international Al Qaeda network.

EU Approves Oil Sales From Syrian Opposition

Members of the EU have agreed to ease restrictions on Syrian oil.

Under the new agreement, oil from rebel occupied areas will no longer be embargoed.

Oil from areas still held by the regime will still be embargoed.

According to the EU, the new deal will "help the civilian population and opposition".

Before the civil war began, about a quarter of Syria's economy was based on oil sales.

Allowing the opposition to sell oil could help them in their battles to find funding for weapons with which to fight the regime.

It will also help the EU, by beginning to return one of their sources for oil.

20 Now Dead From Bird Flu in China

The H7N9 strain of the bird flu has now killed twenty people in China.

One hundred and two cases of the illness have been confirmed.

Health officials have still be unable to identify the source of the strain.

Unlike previous strains, H7N9 does not sicken or kill bird populations, making it a lot harder to track.

Tamiflu can be used as a cure, as long as it is caught early enough.

Workers Continue Search Efforts After Chinese Quake

Rescue workers are continuing their efforts to find missing people after Saturday's 6.6 quake, near Ya'an, China.

One hundred and eighty-four people were killed, nearly twelve thousand, and twenty-four are still missing.

The government has sent eighteen thousand troops to help with rescue efforts, as well as clearing roads of rock slides.

Residents are still considering themselves lucky, as many remember the region's 2007 quake which killed seventy thousand.

Iranian F5 Fighter Goes Down Killing 2

An Iranian F5 fighter crashed on Sunday.

Both pilots were killed when it crashed into a mountain near Abdanan, Iran.

They had been flying out of Dezful.

Investigators are trying to determine what caused the fighter to crash.

North Korea Moves More Missiles to Coast

North Korea has moved two more Musudan missiles to their east coast.

This brings a total of at least four Musudans and seven TEL missiles, to the coastal area.

According to South Korean sources, the North is planning to test launch a missile.

April 25 may be a target date for a test, as that is the anniversary of the founding of the North's military.

Shooting at Denver's 4-20 Celebrations

A shooting occurred at Denver's 4-20 Celebrations. Thousands of people had massed into Civic Center Park to celebrate marijuana.

Just after 17:00 MDT shots broke out. At least two people were wounded in the shooting. Both of the wounded took bullets to the leg, neither was a life threatening wound.

The Denver Police Department are looking for two suspects. Both are black males. One is described as six foot, one hundred and eighty pounds, wearing a grey hoodie, black pants and a Carolina baseball cap. The second was wearing a black and white checkered shirt.

Multiple road closures were made, while the investigation was underway; at Colfax and Bannock, 13th and Bannock, 14th and Bannock, and Colfax and Delaware.

Denver Dumb Friends League Suspends Dog Adoptions Due to Illness

The Denver Dumb Friends League Quebec Street Shelter has halted taking in dogs due to illness going through their current population.

Over the past week, twelve dogs have come down with pneumonia, five of which have died.

All dogs have been given antibiotics as a precaution.

Adoptions of dogs currently housed at the shelter have been postponed for thirty days as a precaution.

It is believed that the illness was brought in by a stray.

Loveland Pass Avalanche Buries Snowboarders

An avalanche occurred Saturday afternoon near Loveland Pass, in Colorado.

Six snowboarders apparently caused the avalanche, and were caught in it.  

One of them was rescued, but the other five were killed.

Highway 6 was closed while search operations were underway.
