Private First Class Charles P. McClure, twenty-one of Stratford, Oklahoma, died on May 2.
He was injured in a vehicle accident at Camp Buehring, Kuwait.
It was his first deployment.
McClure was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 42nd Field Artillery
Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division out of Fort
Carson, Colorado.

US Army: Specialist Trinidad Santiago Jr.
Specialist Trinidad Santiago Jr., twenty-five of San Diego, California, died on May 2.
He was injured in a vehicle accident at Camp Buehring, Kuwait.
Santiago was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 42nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division out of Fort Carson, Colorado.
His decorations included: Joint Service Achievement Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Ribbon, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and NATO Medal.

Staff Sergeant Michael H. Simpson, thirty of San Antonio, Texas, died on May 1 from wounds sustained.
Simpson's unit was attacked on April 27th, in Arian, Afghanistan. and he was injured by an improvised explosive device.
He was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) out of Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.
Among his completed courses were: Special Forces Qualification Course, Warrior Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, Combat Life Savers Course; Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape Course; Hazmat Driver Instructor's Course, Joint Armorers Training Course, and Basic Airborne Course.
His awards included: Army Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Army Achievement Medal with three oak leaf clusters, Good Conduct Medal with three oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terror Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Non-commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon with numeral 2 device, Army Service Ribbon, Special Forces Tab, Combat Infantryman Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, Parachutist Badge, and a posthumous Purple Heart.

Teacher in Colorado Accused of Taping Students Mouths Shut
Aurora Public Schools are investigating claims that a teacher taped students mouths shut, on Thursday.It reportedly happened at Fulton Academy of Excellence, in a second grade classroom.
According to parents, all twenty-eight children had scotch tape placed over their mouths.
The teacher has been placed on paid administrative leave, while the investigation takes place.
Colorado Scientists Creating H7N9 Vaccine
Scientists at Greffex, in Aurora, Colorado, believe that they have come up with a vaccine for H7N9.
The strain of bird flu has killed twenty-seven and sickened one hundred and twenty people, in China.
Greffex was sent the genetic makeup of the virus, in March.
They believe that their vaccine will be capable of blocking and perhaps curing H7N9.
Tests will continue for the next two to three months, then clinical trials can begin.
If all goes well mass production could begin by October.

Nestle's Pizza Division has announced a recall of various pizzas.
They are being recalled due to plastic fragments that have been found in some of them.
The plastic pieces were mixed in with spinach, which the company used.
Pizzas were made between February 26 and March 9, and then sold all across the United States.
The pizzas facing recall are:

China Arrests 904 in Fake Meat Crackdown
As China works on ensuring food safety they made a major crackdown.
Nine hundred and four people have been arrested for involvement in three hundred and twenty-eight incidents.
Some of those incidents was portraying rat, fox, or mink meat as beef or mutton.
In others chemicals or drugs were added to meat.

Springs Fire Over 10,000 Acres

The fire, which on Thursday morning, has burnt fifteen buildings, a parking lot of RVs, and left a trail from the 101 to the Pacific Coast Highway.
More than a thousand firefighters are battling the blaze.
Santa Ana winds pushed the flames and are expected to do so again on Friday. Temperatures in the nineties and humidity below ten percent are going to help things either.
Hundreds of residents of the Deer Creek and Yerba Buena communities have been evacuated, with the fire threatening their homes, as well as the California State University Channel Islands campus.
Also in danger, from the blaze, is Naval Base Ventura County. The base hasn't been evacuated, but the personnel have been warned to stay indoors to avoid breathing in the smoke.

A US Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker exploded in mid air, over Kyrgyzstan, on Friday afternoon.
The remnants of the KC-135 refueling plane came down over a three mile area, near the village of Chaldovar.
At the time of the explosion, the plane had about eighty tons of fuel aboard.
Captain Mark T. Voss, Captain Victoria A. Pinckney, and Technical Sergeant Herman Mackey III were killed in the crash.
Military officials are investigating what could have caused the explosion.

Sixteen Year Old Arrested for School Chemistry Experiment
Sixteen year old Kiera Wilmot was the perfect student, child, and friend to everyone who knew her.
Then the Bartow, Florida teen was expelled, arrested, and charged with multiple felonies.
Her crime? She caused smoke and a small explosion in a chemistry experiment, on Monday.
No one was hurt and nothing was damaged yet Kiera was expelled and arrested on charges of possessing a weapon on school grounds, discharging a weapon on school grounds, and discharging a destructive device.
Making matters worse, the district attorney is attempting to charge her as an adult.
School and district officials are taking national heat for their treatment of Kiera.
