430 at Virginia High School May Have Been Exposed to Tuberculosis

Authorities in Fairfax County, Virginia are concerned that an entire high school may have been exposed to tuberculosis.

Two people at Robert E. Lee High School have come down with the active form of the disease.

As many four hundred and thirty students and staff may have been exposed to TB.

Officials are working to test all of those who may have been exposed.

1 Dead in Midwest Storms

One woman was killed as storms struck part of the US, on Friday.

Winds as high as eighty-five miles per hour were accompanied by tornadoes and hail as big as baseballs.

A woman in South Dakota was killed, when the high winds tossed her trailer around.

In Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin nearly half a million people lost power at one point or another, due to the storms.

Electric companies warned that some of those outages could last through Tuesday.

Storms were expected to continue on Saturday, bring similar conditions to Colorado, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming.

24 Killed in Iraq Violence

Twenty-four people were killed across Iraq, in Saturday's violence.

Fifteen were killed and thirty injured when a suicide bomber struck a Shiite mosque, in Taj.

Another suicide bomber killed four, at a village south of Mosul.

Three police were killed and a fourth wounded when a gunmen opened fire on them, in Tuz-Khurmato.

In Tikrit, two were killed and four wounded when a militant threw a grenade into a crowd.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attacks, but they are thought to be the work of Sunni groups.

13 Buildings Lost to East Peak Fire

Thirteen buildings have been lost to the East Peak Fire, nine of them homes.

The fire, which began on Wednesday near La Veta, Colorado, has burnt over nine thousand acres.

It tore through the Spanish Peaks Boy Scout Ranch, chasing Scouts out of the camp.

Twenty more homes are on mandatory evacuation, while more than five hundred are on standby, including the entire town of Walsenburg.

Air support is aiding ground based fire fighters in battling the blaze.

South Fork Colorado Evacuated Due to West Fork Fire

Authorities have ordered the evacuation of South Fork, Colorado due to the encroaching West Fork Fire.

All four hundred residents must leave the town, as the fire breaches thirty thousand acres.

The fire is within three miles of the town and efforts have not been able to stop it.

More than two hundred fire fighters, aided by aircraft, are battling the flames.

Lightning initially started the blaze on June 5, but recent winds spread the fire very rapidly.

Flooding Forcing Evacuation of Calgary

Officials have ordered the evacuations of parts of Calgary, due to flooding.

Nearly one hundred thousand people have been ordered to evacuate their homes, due to the rising waters.

Torrential rains have brought raging waters to town as well as landslides.

Roads and bridges have been washed away, and at least thirty people have been rescued from their rooftops, by helicopters.

The national government has ordered troops to the city to aid in any way they can.

Suicide Bomber Kills 15 at Pakistani Mosque

Fifteen people were killed when a suicide bomber struck a mosque in Peshawar, Pakistan, on Friday.

Another twenty-five people were injured when the blast tore through.

The Shiite mosque is home to a seminary.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack, but the Taliban is thought to be at fault.

Death Toll From Indian Flooding Nearing 600

Officials in India have now confirmed five hundred and fifty-six deaths from recent flooding.

As the waters recede more bodies are able to be recovered.

Hundreds more still missing, and fifty thousand are still stranded.

More than thirty-three thousand people have been rescued, mostly by air.

Nepal was also hit, with thirty-nine dead and twenty missing.

US Army: Specialist William R. Moody

Specialist William R. Moody, thirty of Burleson, Texas, died on June 18.

He and three other Americans were killed when mortars struck Bagram Airfield, in Afghanistan.

It was his third deployment to Afghanistan.

Moody was assigned to the 68th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 43rd Sustainment Brigade, 4th Infantry Division out of Fort Carson, Colorado.

His decorations include: Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Afghanistan and Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, two Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terror Service Medal.

US Army: Specialist Robert W. Ellis

Specialist Robert W. Ellis, twenty-one of Kennewick, Washington, died on June 18.

He and three other Americans were killed when mortars struck Bagram Airfield, in Afghanistan.

It was his first deployment.

Ellis was assigned to the 68th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 43rd Sustainment Brigade, 4th Infantry Division out of Fort Carson, Colorado.

His decorations include: Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
