15 Year Old Drowns in Colorado Springs Flash Flood

Authorities in Colorado Springs had spent Monday night looking for fifteen year old Rose Hammes.

Monday afternoon, she called her mother and said she was trapped under a bridge, by rising waters.

Her body was found just after midnight, in a drainage ditch.

Rose was caught in a flash flood and was unable to escape.

Officials are using her story to emphasize the dangers of flash flooding, and hope that others will be more wary because of her tragedy.

Officer Involved Shooting Leaves 1 Dead in Denver

Denver police were called to a public disturbance incident at 29th and Downing, on Tuesday morning.

They found a man waving a knife and threatening people.

When he did not drop it, after being asked and told to do so, they shot him with a taser.

After that failed to work they then attempted to use a gas gun, which was ineffective as well.

The man then came at police, with the knife, and officers fired several shots.

An ambulance rushed the man to the hospital, but he died from his wounds Tuesday afternoon.

Officials believe that the man was on some sort of drug and are hoping an autopsy will tell them what drug or drugs were involved.

No one else was injured in the incident.

The officers involved have been put on paid leave while an investigation is underway.

Red Canyon Fire Threatening Evacuations in Colorado

A fire began Monday afternoon, in Garfield County, Colorado.

It has been named the Red Canyon Fire and had grown to two hundred acres by Tuesday afternoon.

A per-evacuation alert has been sent to residents of the Christeleit subdivision, near Glenwood Springs.

Two aircraft are assisting sixty firefighters in battling the blaze.

There is no containment at this point.

Illinois Pipeline Explosion Forces Hundreds to Evacuate

A pipeline exploded in Whiteside County, Illinois, late Monday night, shooting flames three hundred feet into the air.

Several hundred people were evacuated from the area, over night, but most were allowed back to their homes Tuesday morning.

The pipeline carries forty thousand barrels of ethane and propane, every day.

Enterprise Product Partners LP, the company that runs the pipeline, was quick to close it off, and divert the flow to other pipes, avoiding a stoppage of service.

They do not yet know when they will able to reopen the stretch of pipeline.

An investigation is underway to determine what caused the rupture and explosion.

Georgia Man Dies After Falling 65 Feet During Braves Game

A man fell sixty-five feet to his death at Turner Field, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Monday night's accident happened during a Brave's baseball game.

Thirty year old Ronald Lee Homer Jr. was sitting in the upper deck and went over the railing.

Police believe that it was the result of an accident.

It was the third falling death, at the stadium, since 2008.

Israel Uses Iron Dome to Shoot Down Rocket Attack Aimed at Eilat

Militants launched a rocket at Eilat, Israel, on Tuesday morning.

Iron Dome was standing by and was successful in intercepting and shooting down the terrorist strike.

This was the first time that Iron Dome had been used in the area around Eilat.

The terrorist group Ansar Jerusalem claimed responsibility for the rocket attack.

Riots in Bangladesh Leave 40 Injured

Riots took place in several cities in Bangladesh, on Tuesday.

At least forty people were injured and thirty-four arrested as members of Jamaat-e-Islam clashed with police.

The worst of the violence took place in Barisal, Bogra, Comilla, and Rajshahi.

Rioters used at least fifteen bombs and torched thirty-four vehicles, during the violence.

Police responded with tear gas and rubber bullets, as they fought to control the protesters.

Specialist Keith E. Grace Jr., twenty-six of Baytown, Texas, died on August 11.

He and two others, from his unit, were killed by indirect enemy fire, in Paktia Province, Afghanistan.

Grace was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division out of Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

US Army: Staff Sergeant Octavio Herrera

Staff Sergeant Octavio Herrera, twenty-six of Caldwell, Idaho, died on August 11.

He and two others, from his unit, were killed by indirect enemy fire, in Paktia Province, Afghanistan.

Herrera was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division out of Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

Sergeant Jamar A. Hicks, twenty-two of Little Rock, Arkansas, died on August 11.

He and two others, from his unit, were killed by indirect enemy fire, in Paktia Province, Afghanistan.

Hicks was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division out of Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
