Former senate president John Morse, of Colorado Springs, and former senator Angela Giron, of Pueblo, were both recall for their part in passing restrictive gun laws.
Morse saw fifty-one percent of the vote go against him, while fifty-six percent voted against Giron.
Many had thought Giron was safe as her district is largely Democrat.
Bernie Herpin will now replace Morse and George Rivera will take Giron's seat.
The recall still leaves a Democrat majority in the state senate, however it definitely sent a message about what could be seen in the 2014 elections.
Already other Colorado Democrats, including Governor Hickenlooper, have tried to distance themselves from their roles in seeing the gun laws passed.
