Flooding in Louisville Damages Hundreds of Homes

Hundreds of homes and dozens of roads were damaged or destroyed by flooding in Louisville, Kentucky.

Over six inches of rain fell Saturday night and Sunday morning causing flash flooding.

Nearly two hundred people required help in evacuating.

Some areas still have as much as three feet of standing water.

There have been no reports of serious injuries, due to the flooding.

Good news for the area is that the weather is supposed to be clear for the next several days.

8 Killed in Monster Truck Accident in Mexico

Eight people were killed and eighty injured in a monster truck accident in Chihuahua, Mexico, on Sunday.

The truck had been performing stunts for a crowd when it seemed to lose control and plowed into the bystanders.

Witnesses say that the driver struck his head on the roof of the truck, right before the vehicle swerved into the crowd.

Authorities are investigating the incident, to see if criminal charges should be made.

They are also reviewing safety protocols which allow crowds so close to the stunts, with no barricade to protect them.

Clashes in Egypt Leave 51 Dead

Fifty-one people were killed and hundreds more injured in clashes in Egypt, on Sunday.

Most of the violence occurred in Cairo, but several other cities saw violence as well.

Thousands of Egyptians had gathered in Tahrir Square to celebrate the fortieth anniversary of the Arab Israeli War.

Members of the Muslim Brotherhood and their supporters took to the streets as well and began attack groups of celebrants.

Police and military forces were able to keep large groups from reaching each other, but fighting broke out in side streets.

At least two hundred members of the Muslim Brotherhood were arrested as the government responded to the violence.

Man From Germany Killed, Sierra Leone Citizen Kidnapped in Yemen

In two separate incidents, gunmen attacked two diplomatic cars in Sanaa, Yemen.

A German embassy guard was attacked and killed when he resisted his attempted captors.

Later a UN worker, from Sierra Leone, was kidnapped by gunmen, along with his car.

No claims of responsibility have yet been made, but it is considered highly likely that Al Qaeda was behind both kidnapping attempts.

Terrorist Attacks Kill 35 in Iraq

Terrorist attacks killed thirty-five and injured one hundred and sixty-three, in Iraq, on Sunday.

A dual bombing, at a Shiite mosque in New Baghdad, killed seven and wounded thirteen.

One soldier was killed and three civilians injured when a bomb exploded in Kirkuk.

In Seliekh, a suicide bomber killed twelve and injured twenty-five.

Another dual bombing, this time at an elementary school in Tal-Afar, killed fifteen and wounded one hundred and twenty-two.

No one has claimed responsibility for any of the attacks.

5 ISAF Soldiers Killed in Afghanistan

Five members of The International Security Assistance Force were killed in Afghanistan, on Sunday.

Four of them were killed in combat with enemy forces.

The fifth was killed by a security guard, in an incident which is under investigation.

NATO did not yet release the nationality of the slain soldiers.

China Beings Coastal Evacuations as Fitow Approaches

China began evacuating low lying regions along the coast of Fujian and Zhejiang provinces.

Typhoon Fitow is approaching and officials are expecting the storm to make landfall early Monday.

Three hundred and thirty thousand people have been evacuated and sixty-five thousand fishing boats were called in.

Fitow is expected to bring storm surges as high as thirty feet.

The storm is the twenty-third typhoon to hit China, this year.

Tornado in Nebraska Injures 15

Fifteen people were injured when a tornado struck Wayne, Nebraska, on Friday night.

Ten homes and twenty-seven business were damaged by the twister.

Governor Dave Heineman declared the area a disaster.

Four other tornadoes struck north east Nebraska, while a sixth tornado struck in Iowa.

No major damage or injuries were reported from any of them.

US SEAL Teams Raid Libya and Somalia

Two US SEAL teams made raids in Libya and Somalia, on Saturday.

In Libya, a SEAL team was able to successfully capture Anas al Liby, a leader in Al Qaeda.

Liby is thought to be the man who organized attacks on US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, in 1998.

The other team made a move to grab an Al Shabaab leader in Barawe, Somalia.

They were repelled by heave fire, from Al Shabaab forces.

According to US sources, the SEAL team was unsuccessful in the capture, but was able to kill the leader.

Where as Al Shabaab says that they did lose a fighter, but he was not the leader.

Al Shabaab also claims to have killed at least one of the "invaders" and wounded four more.

Terrorism Kills 80 in Iraq

Eighty people were killed in terrorist acts, on Saturday, in Iraq.

The biggest attack occurred at a bridge between Adhamiya and Kadhamiya, when a suicide bomber struck a Shiite procession.

Fifty-one people were killed and one hundred and nine injured by that single bomb.

Several fires were started by the explosion, but they were eventually controlled.

At a cafe in Balad, sixteen were killed and thirty wounded by a suicide bomber.

Another cafe, in Baya, was struck with bomb, killing three and wounding fifteen.

In Yusufiya, a bomb killed three.

Two shootings and a bombing left seven dead in Mosul, including two members of the press.
