CDC Narrowing Search for Salmonella Source That Has Sickened 278

The CDC has announced that they have narrowed down the source of a major salmonella outbreak.

Two hundred and seventy-eight people, in eighteen states, have been made ill by tainted chicken.

The strains of salmonella have so far been quite difficult to treat with antibiotics, but no one has died.

According to the organization, they have traced the tainted chicken to three Foster Farms plants.

No recall has been announced, as the CDC has been unable to narrow the search down to specific products.

At this point, they are advising consumers to simply ensure that the chicken is properly cooked to one hundred and sixty-five degrees.

A meat thermometer is the best way to be sure that the temperature has been reached.

US to End Military Aid to Egypt

The US government is preparing to stop military aid to Egypt.

A slow down of aid has been occurring since August, over the military coup which took place.

Now the US will be stopping shipments completely.

The Obama administration is scheduled to make the announcement, on Wednesday.

For Egypt's military, the ending of aid will mostly be symbolic as several other countries began sending aid after the coup.

Obama Continues His Refusal to Negotiate

In a special news conference, President Obama once again refused to negotiate with Republicans over the government shutdown.

Accusing them of extortion and threats, he continued to ignore Republican offers to get the government going again.

Obama is not alone in refusing to discuss things with the Republicans, most Democrats are backing the President.

Republicans responded by insisting that Obama and the Democrats at least negotiate and discuss the many Republican offers.

Time will tell which side will break first, but the longer things go on the more unhappy the American public is becoming.

While Democrats point at the growing number who are unhappy with Republicans, they ignore that their own approval ratings are also plummeting.

Snowden Leaks Show Canada Was Spying on Brazil

Brazil is accusing Canada of spying on her mining and energy industries.

Citing information released by Edward Snowden, via reporter Glenn Greenwald, Brazil's government says they have proof the spying.

Snowden leaks began in June of 2012 and have mostly caused harm to US relations with various countries.

Now, however, Canada is feeling the backlash as some of the information gave details about their spying program.

According to the documents, the Communications Security Establishment of Canada was hacking phones, the internet, and social media to gather the intel.

CSEC is mandated to safeguard Canadian government communications and computers from foreign hackers, to help other federal security agencies where legally possible, and to gather foreign intelligence.

Per the documents it seems that CSEC was as over zealous as the NSA in carrying out their duties.

Factory Fire Kills 9 in Bangladesh

Nine people died in a factory fire in Bangladesh, on Tuesday night.

Another fifty were injured in the fire, which took place in Gazipur.

It took fire fighters several hours to put out the flames.

A full investigation is set to begin, on Wednesday, to determine the cause of the fire.

Police From China Fire Into Crowd in Tibet Leaving 60 Injured

According to multiple sources in Tibet, Chinese forces fired into protesters in Driru, on Tuesday.

At least sixty people were injured, but none were killed.

Security forces were preparing to enter the home of an organizer of past protests when the crowd blocked their way.

Witnesses say that security forces ordered the crowd out of the way, and then opened fire.

Chinese officials declined to comment about the shooting.

China has occupied Tibet since 1950.

North Korea Reactivates Yongbyon Nuclear Reactor

On Tuesday, North Korea reactivated it's nuclear reactor at Yongbyon.

The reactor had been deactivated and partially dismantled in an agreement with the UN, in 2007.

Reactivation happened just hours after the North made threats against the US.

Those threats included the use of nuclear weapons.

6 Soldiers Killed in Egypt

On Monday, unknown assailants attacked a state run TV station, in Cairo.

The assault began with rocket propelled grenades being fired at the building and it's dishes.

Gunfire followed the grenades, but the assailants disappeared as security forces approached.

There were no reports of injuries, due to the attack.

Near the Suez Canal, six soldiers were killed by a suicide bomber.

Both incidents point to a rise in terrorist activity, in Egypt.

No one has claimed responsibility for either attack, however the government is blaming the Muslim Brotherhood.

10 Explosions Tear Through Baghdad

Ten explosions tore through Baghdad, on Monday.

Eight of the ten were aimed at Shiite areas, of the city.

Thirty-eight people were killed, between the ten attacks.

No one claimed responsibility for any of the attacks, however Al Qaeda is being blamed.

Bombing at Pakistan Polio Clinic Kills 6

Six people were killed when a bomb exploded at a polio clinic, in Peshawar, Pakistan.

Four police officers and two medical workers were killed, while fifteen other people were injured in the blast.

Police found and safely diffused a second bomb, found near the scene.

A Taliban group claimed responsibility for the bombing.
