7.4 Quake Shakes The Philippines

A 7.4 earthquake shook the Philippines, Tuesday morning.

The quake struck off the coast of Bohol island.

No tsunami warnings were issued, due to the quake.

Minor damage was reported in various parts of the county, but no one was injured, according to initial reports.

College Party Goers Clash With Police in Washington

A college party in Bellingham, Washington got out of hand, late Saturday night.

Police shut down the party, only to have the drunk crowd move to a nearby park.

Witnesses say that at least five hundred people were there by midnight.

Early Sunday morning, a reinforced police presence moved in ordering people to leave.

The crowd quickly turned to mob and began throwing objects at officers who responded with pepper spray.

Order was eventually restored, with three arrested.

No reports of injuries came out of the incident.

The University of Washington says they are reviewing surveillance footage, and will prosecute any students found to be involved.

Barricades Fall to Protesters in DC

Thousands of veterans and protesters stormed the barricades around the WWII Memorial, in DC, on Sunday morning.

The barricades were taken down and pushed aside, while other protesters, driving big rig trucks, drove the streets.

WWII veterans were first allowed access to the memorial remembering the war they fought in.

Patriotic songs were sung as flags were waved and then Senator Ted Cruz, Senator Mike Lee, and former Governor Sarah Palin spoke to the crowd.

They thanked the vets for their presence, reminded them that this was their memorial and country, and reprimanded the Obama administration for placing the barricades.

After the speeches, the protest moved to the White House, carrying the barricades with them.

Riot police met them at the White House, where the barricades were dumped.

By late afternoon the barricades had been put back around the memorial.

Many veterans and protesters pledged to return next weekend.

200 Arrested After Moscow Riot

Over two hundred were arrested after a riot broke out in Moscow, on Sunday.

It was centered in Biryulevo when thousands marched in protest against immigrants.

As police showed up to block their way it swiftly went from angry to violent.

Dozens of shops were broken into and cars and dumpsters were flipped and or burned.

At least one police officer was injured, however no information on rioters being injured was available.

Extra police have been called into the area, to maintain peace.

1 Red Crescent and 6 Red Cross Workers Kidnapped in Syria

Six members of the International Red Cross and one member of the Red Crescent were kidnapped on Sunday, in Syria.

It happened, in Idlib province, while they were driving to deliver medical supplies.

Gunmen attacked their vehicle and then took them away at gun point.

No one has claimed responsibility for the kidnapping.

The Red Cross has not yet released the identities or nationalities of the victims.

91 Killed in Stampede in India

As hundreds of people crossed a bridge near the Ratangarh temple, in Madhya Pradesh, India, a stampede began.

At least ninety-one people were killed as they were trampled, pushed off the bridge, or jumped off of it.

The stampede started when a rumor that the bridge was going to collapse caused the crowd to panic.

Hundreds of thousands are visiting the temple, in Datia, as part of a Hindu festival.

Food Stamps Not Working in 17 States

For several hours, on Saturday, food stamps were not working in seventeen states.

A routine server test caused a fatal error and shut down the system.

The outage began Saturday morning, but was up for most areas by Saturday night.

Officials said that while the error was fixed within minutes, it takes hours for the systems to come fully online again.

Many people had been worrying that the outage was caused by the government shutdown.

51 Killed in Peru Truck Crash

Fifty-one people were killed in a truck crash, in Peru.

Saturday's accident occurred in La Convencion province.

The truck left the road and fell several hundred feet off a cliff.

At this time, fifty-one bodies have been recovered, but officials are unsure how many people were on the truck when it crashed.

Search operations continued into the night.

In Peru, trucks are often used as the main means of transportation, as buses are uncommon.

Ireland to be Bailout Free in December

On Saturday, Taoiseach Enda Kenny announced that Ireland will be out of it's bail out by December.

Ireland was forced to take a one hundred and fifteen billion dollar bailout, from the EU, when it's banks collapsed in 2010.

One of four countries which took a bailout, Ireland will be the first to recover.

The Taoiseach warned that being out from under the bail out did not mean that tough times were behind the country.

He explained that higher taxes and more spending cuts will still be needed, but that the worst of it was over.

6.3 Quake Off Crete Shakes Mediterranean

A 6.3 earthquake struck off the coast of Crete, on Saturday afternoon.

It was felt across the Mediterranean, but caused no major damage.

The worst damage was reported near Chania, were a rock slide trapped a bus, but did not cause any injuries.

One person was injured, during the quake, when he panicked and jumped off of his balcony.

Inspections are taking place all over the island of Crete, to ensure all buildings, bridges, and roads are safe.
