12 Bombings Kill 55 in Iraq

Fifty-five people were killed in twelve car bombings, in Iraq, on Sunday.

Eleven of the bombings took place in Baghdad and it's suburbs.

Most of them occurred in Shiite neighborhoods.

The twelfth bombing struck soldiers waiting for their paychecks outside of a bank, in Mosul.

No one has claimed responsibility, for the attacks, but suspicion lies on Al Qaeda and other Sunni groups.

Bus Bombing Kills 18 in Afghanistan

Eighteen people were killed when a bus was struck by a roadside bomb, in Afghanistan.

Five other people were injured, with two of them being in critical condition.

Sunday evening's explosion happened near Andar.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Nearly two thousand people have been killed by terrorism, in Afghanistan, in 2013.

5 Killed as Explosions Hit Political Rally in India

Five people were killed when six explosions ripped into a crowd in Patna, India.

Seventy-three were injured by the blasts, on Sunday.

The explosions occurred just before an opposition political rally was supposed to begin.

Another two bombs were found and safely defused by bomb experts.

Authorities did not spread word of the bombs, leaving most of the crowd thinking that they were fire crackers, as the rally continued on.

Rioting in Bangladesh Kills 5

A nationwide three day protest began with violence, on Sunday, in Bangladesh.

Five people were killed as rioters clashed with security forces.

Two hundred were injured, dozens of buildings were looted and burned, and two trains were set fire.

Police were among the injured.

Opposition leaders are holding to their pledge of a three day protest, despite the violence of the first day.

Aurora's Chemical Roundup Shut Down by Explosive

Aurora's Chemical Roundup will have to be rescheduled again, after it was shut down on Saturday.

A man brought crystallized picric acid, a highly dangerous explosive, for disposal.

Officials immediately closed off the area, when they realized what they were dealing with.

The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Bomb Squad was called in, to dispose of the acid.

Picric acid is relatively safe and has many uses, when in it's liquid form, but becomes extremely dangerous when it dries out.

The Roundup was cancelled, in September, due to the floods.

It is an event which the Aurora Fire Department holds annually, to allow residents to dispose of chemicals.

5 Killed in Phoenix Shooting

A shooting in Phoenix, Arizona left five people and two dogs dead.

Police responded to a shots fired called, Saturday morning, at apartments near 17th Ave and Camelback.

When they arrived they found the bodies of four people and two dogs in one apartment.

In the neighboring apartment they found a man dead from a self inflicted wound.

Officials say that the man from the second apartment was responsible for the shooting.

Neighbors say that he had frequently argued with his victims, over their barking dogs.

Thousands Protest The NSA in DC

Thousands marched through Washington DC and to the Capitol, on Saturday.

They were protesting the NSA and it's spying methods.

Protesters said that the NSA must be shut down, as it is violating constitutional freedoms of American citizens.

Many are concerned that it is a sign that the government is headed towards tyranny.

Organizers pointed out that the issue is not one of right versus left, but right versus wrong.

US citizens are not the only ones concerned by the NSA's overreach.

The NSA has been taking a lot of heat lately, as details of it's spying on German Chancellor Angela Merkel have been unveiled.

That program and others have been part of a series of Snowden leaks, that have gained international disapproval.

Czech Elections Leave No Clear Winner

Citizens of the Czech Republic voted on Saturday, without choosing an actual winner.

Voting in the country is so split, that only one party made it over twenty percent.

With 20.45%, the Social Democrats gained the most votes, but nowhere near enough to form any obvious coalition.

ANO 2011, a relatively new centrist party, took 18.65% showing that they are definitely here to stay.

The Communists took 14.91%, not enough for a majority should they and the left leaning Social Democrats come to coalition terms.

Only gaining 7.7% the Civic Democrats showed a massive loss, that could signal the end of their party.

Hopes are that a coalition, of some sort, can be formed.

If a coalition can't be formed, a new election will be required.

Rebels Kill 14 Border Guards in Iran

An unknown rebel group attacked Iranian border guards in Sistan Baluchistan province.

Fourteen guards were killed and at least that many injured, in Saravan.

Officials say that the attackers fled into Pakistan, after the attack.

No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, and several rebel groups are active in the area.

In retaliation for the attack, the Iranian government hanged sixteen rebel prisoners, that were already in their custody.

39 Killed by Flooding in India

Flooding continues to spread in India, as torrential rains have been coming down since Monday.

Multiple states are dealing with the rising waters, with no sign that the rain will let up soon.

Thirty-nine people are confirmed dead, with dozens more missing.

Thousands have been displaced by the flooding.
