UAE Begins Using Oil Pipeline

On Sunday the United Arab Emirates began using the new cross country oil pipeline.

The nearly two hundred and fifty mile long pipeline will carry at least 1.5 million barrels a day.

UAE officials have been filling the pipeline since June 30, but it wasn't allowed to begin flowing til today.

Til now, all of the country's oil was transported by tanker through the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran has repeatedly threatened to shut down.

With the new pipeline, oil now flows directly to the city of Fujairah, which lies on the Indian Ocean.

Oman, the only other Middle East country that borders the Indian Ocean, is also planning a pipeline that will avoid the Persian Gulf.

Deadly Tornadoes Strike in Poland

Kujawy-Pomorze and Wielkopolska provinces in Poland were struck by multiple tornadoes on Saturday.

Over one hundred homes were destroyed, killing one and injuring at least a dozen others.

Hundreds of acres of forest were damaged and power lines were downed throughout the area.

Storms are expected to continue for at least the next couple of days.

Government forces are rushing to the aid of the affected areas in attempts to search for the missing and restore power.

Aurora Police Ask For Help in Search for Woman

The Aurora Police Department is asking for the public's help.

Fifty-seven year old Dorine Avery is missing and was last seen around noon on Saturday near her house in Aurora, Colorado.

Avery is a petite black woman, about 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighing less than 100 pounds.

She was last seen wearing pink pajamas and black "fuzzy type" slippers.

Police added that recent medical issues make walking difficult and prevent her from walking very far, which added to the worries for her safety.

Floods Kill 26 in Japan

At least twenty-six people have lost their lives to floods and mudslides in southern Japan, and six more are missing.

Torrential rains have caused the flooding and mudslides, which have cut off thousands of Japanese.

Around a quarter of a million people had been ordered to evacuate, but many were being allowed to return home Sunday, as the rains stopped.

The Japanese Defense Forces have been using helicopters to fly in food and supplies, to cut off areas.

Western Japan also saw some flooding due to the rains, but it was limited and only damaged about one hundred homes.

Princess Victoria Celebrates 35th Birthday

Sweden's Princess Victoria celebrated her thirty-fifth birthday in high fashion.

Thousands of people lined the parade route, cheering on the heir to the throne.

She was joined by husband Daniel and their new born Estelle.

King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Prince Carl Philip, and Princess Madeleine were also present for the celebrations.

The Swedish royalty is just as beloved as the English, though less known throughout the world.

Queen Elizabeth II of England is actually the third cousin of King Carl XVI Gustaf.

Most of the remaining royal houses of Europe are cousins within a few generations.

Japan Recalls Ambassador to China

As we reported yesterday morning, Japan recalled their ambassador to China.

The move came as the two countries share a battle of words over an island chain that both claim.

Ships from both sides have faced off in the area of the islands, in the East China Sea.

Last week Chinese vessels crossed the line considered to be Japanese territorial waters.

Japan's protest of the crossing was rejected by Beijing.

Amabassador Uichiro Niwa publicly expressed concerns that Japan was escalating a situation they couldn't win, which sparked calls for his resignation.

Foreign Minister Koichiro Gemba commented on a meeting with Niwa saying, "I again instructed him to accurately convey Japan's thinking".

Niwa is now expected to return to China within the next couple days.

The first trailer for Oz The Great and Powerful has been released.

Disney is making this prequel to The Wizard of Oz, one of the greatest movies of all time.

Don't be expecting to see Dorothy, the Lion, Scarecrow, Tinman, Toto, or the ruby slippers.

Oz The Great and Powerful tells the story of how Oscar Diggs, a magician and con artist, ends up in the land of Oz.

Once there he finds himself in the middle of a battle between good and evil, and is forced to take a side.

James Franco stars as Oz, Michelle Williams portrays Glinda the Good, Rachel Weisz plays the Evanora the wicked witch of the east, and Mila Kunis will be bringing Theodora the wicked witch of the west to life.

Fans can look forward to the prequel keeping the theme of the "real world" being in black and white, with the land of Oz being in color.

Oz The Great and Powerful is scheduled to hit theaters March 8, 2013.

Kurds Clash With Turkish Riot Police

Kurds clashed with riot police in south east Turkey on Saturday.

The local governor had declined permission to allow the pro Kurdish Peace and Democracy Party to hold a rally, but they did so anyways.


Police came asking the crowds to leave, they refused and began throwing things at the police.


Things escalated when around fifty members of parliament attempted to join the demonstrators, but were blocked by police.


Water cannons and teargas were turned on the crowds, forcing many to disperse, but others began turning it into a riot.


In the midst of things, militants detonated a bomb, causing over a dozen police officers to suffer minor injuries.

More Protests in Bahrain

Bahrain's decision to ban demonstrations has completely backfired.

It has resulted in riots, and protests decrying the move by the government.

The government stated it would not allow more demonstrations as they get in the way of every day life.

At least fifty people have been killed in violent protests since they began in February of 2011.

The Shiite majority says that the Sunni run country discriminates against them.

150 Killed in Possible Syrian Massacre

UN observers are reporting that yet another massacre has taken place in Syria.

Syrian forces are accused of shelling, then moving infantry through a village in central Syria, killing as they went.

Reports from UN monitors and human rights groups, say that at least one hundred and fifty people were killed in the massacre.

If they reports are true, it would make this the worst single act in the sixteen month conflict.

Accusations of moving and preparing chemical weapons are also being aimed at the Syrian government.

So far none have been used, but if they are being prepared for use the civil war has gotten even further out of control that had been thought.

Some fear that if brought out, of their storage locations, that the weapons could be captured by Al Qaeda or other terrorist organizations.
