Facebook Announces Video for Instagram

Facebook announced some major additions to Instagram, on Thursday.

Instagram will now be capable of videos up to fifteen seconds in length.

That move is a clear attempt to compete with Twitter's Vine app, that allows six seconds of video.

In addition to being longer, Instagram will also allow for thirteen different filters to be placed on the videos.

Captions, hashtags, and even the ability to pick what image shows as the still image.

Other tools will allow for different effects to be place in videos, which users create.

East Peak Fire Chases out Boy Scouts

A group of Boy Scouts escaped the East Peak Fire by mere minutes, on Wednesday, as the blaze swept through the Spanish Peaks Scout Ranch, near Walsenburg, Colorado.

The fire began on Wednesday, right near the camp, and quickly tore through it.

Luckily everyone was able to safely evacuate and no one was injured.

Flames up to one hundred and fifty feet have spread the blaze to over one thousand acres, in twenty-four hours.

Air support and a Type 2 Command Team have been ordered to fight the fire.

Mandatory evacuations have been sent out for the immediate area surrounding the fire.

The town of Walsenburg is now on preevacuation status.

Bull Gulch Fire Begins in Colorado

A fire began in Fremont County, on Wednesday, and spread over Thursday.

It joins the series of fires that Colorado has been dealing with, over the past couple weeks.

Located about a mile east of Table Mountain, the Bull Gulch Fire has burned about two hundred acres.

Fifty firefighters and two aircraft have been sent to battle the blaze.

Steady winds including high gusts have pushed the flames through land with humidity under five percent.

Trails in the area have been closed, and nearby residents placed on standby evacuation.

Firework Factory Explosions Leave 2 Dead

A series of explosions ripped apart B.E.M. Fireworks, on Thursday, in Quebec.

Two people were caught in the initial blast, and were killed.

Nearby houses and buildings were evacuated as fires continued to light more of the fireworks.

B.E.M. has been a firework manufacturer for over twenty-five years, and this is the first reported accident.

It is believed that a smaller storage area caught on fire and then spread to the main facility.

Once the scene calms down investigators will move in to try and determine what first caused the fire.

33 Killed in Bus Crash in Peru

Thirty-three people were killed and seven are missing after a bus crashed in Peru.

The double decker bus went off the road and dropped fifty feet into a river at the bottom of the ravine.

Officials believe that the seven missing were carried away by the river.

Investigators are trying to determine what caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

1 Killed as German Roads Buckle in Heat

Europe's heat wave is causing more than discomfort for much of the continent.

The heat is causing old concrete roads in Germany to buckle.

A motorcyclist was killed when he hit a buckled stretch and lost control.

Four other motorists have been injured in accidents caused by the damaged roadways.

Drivers are being urged to give concrete roads extra care.

Crews are out repairing the damage, and the government is sending extra personnel out to keep an eye out for damage.

Kuwait Sets Elections for July 25

Kuwait has announced new parliamentary elections will take place on July 25.

They became necessary after the constitutional court negated the previous election, on Sunday.

December's elections had been challenged by the opposition saying that they favored the ruling party.

The court's ruling stated that they negated the election due to technicalities in the election rules.

Palestinian Prime Minister Resigns After 2 Weeks

After just two weeks on the job Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah has resigned.

In his resignation he stated that it was over a conflict of authority.

The Prime Minister's office has little power, as the President actually controls everything.

Some believe that the resignation isn't sincere, but an attempt to gain more autonomy.

President Mahmoud Abbas has not yet accepted the resignation, and negotiations could be taking place.

Black Forest Fire up to 95% Containment

The Black Forest Fire is now listed as ninety-five percent contained.

It killed two people, burnt nearly sixteen thousand acres, destroyed five hundred and nine homes, and damaged eighteen more.

All that marked it as the most destructive fire in Colorado history, especially in terms of houses lost.

Cooler weather and rains have helped more than a thousand fire fighters in battling the blaze.

Officials have finally determined where the fire started, and they began their investigation on Tuesday morning.

More and more neighborhoods are being dropped off the mandatory evacuation list as the fire becomes less of a threat.

Hopes are for full containment sometime on Thursday.

Lime Gulch Fire Forces Evacuations in Colorado

Having begun on Tuesday, the Lime Gulch Fire gained greater notice as it grew to more than five hundred acres and moved towards homes.

The entire town of Buffalo Park, Colorado was evacuated on Wednesday, as the fire raced towards the town.

Nearby areas were placed on various levels of evacuation, as officials keep an eye on the fire.

Several dozen firefighters and some aircraft have been dispatched to battle the blaze.

Concerns are high that it will continuing moving east and make it over the next crest, if it does that it will likely only pick up speed.

Smoke from the fire is visible all over the Denver metro area, whose suburbs begin only about fifteen miles away from the flames.
