The bombings were spread throughout thirteen cities, in both Sunni and Shiite neighborhoods.
Nearly four hundred were injured in the twenty-one separate bombings, some of which were combined with shootings.
It was the second deadliest day in Iraq, since the US troop withdrawal.
Meanwhile former Vice President Tariq Hashemi, and his son in law Ahmed Qahtan, were tried in absentia, found guilty of plotting bombings and assassinations from 2005-2011, and sentenced to be hung.
The two men have been living in Turkey, which has granted them sanctuary.
They have thirty days to return to Iraq and appeal for a retrial, or else the sentence will stand.
Hashemi is also on Interpol's most wanted list.
During the proceedings, the defense team accused the court of bending to political pressure, to which the judge responded with a threat of opening a legal case against them if they didn't stop making accusations.
