Colorado Senate Passes Immigrant Tuition Bill

Colorado's Senate passed a bill, on Monday, that allows for lowered tuition rates for children of illegal immigrants.

It passed with a vote of twenty-three to twelve.

Every Democrat and three Republicans voted for it.

The bill now heads to the House, which is Democrat controlled, so it will likely pass.

Similar bills have passed the Senate before, strictly on party lines, but could not make it pass the previously Republican controlled House.

Under the bill, students are only eligible for in state tuition, if they completed at least three years of high school, in Colorado.
