Police are confident that their search for Christopher Dorner is over, but have yet to confirm it.
A person they believe to be him, was killed in a cabin fire, near Big Bear, California, on Tuesday.
The person matched the description of Dorner, fled from police, shot at police, and then hid inside a cabin.
Officers surrounded the cabin and engaged in a bit of a shoot out with the man, wounding two San Bernardino County Sheriff deputies.
During the standoff a fire started in the cabin, possibly caused by an exploding tear gas canister.
The man did not evacuate the building, and a body was found in the burnt remnants.
Authorities are waiting on dental and DNA confirmations, for identity.
