Nelson, Georgia is proposing a plan that has some people up in arms.
Their idea is to require the head of every household to own and carry a gun.
It does allow for exceptions to the rule, such as felons, religious beliefs, and mental or physical inability to carry one.
City officials say they decided upon plan, as the they only have one police officer, who works eight hours five days a week.
Other than that single officer, the town is dependent on two different sets of county sheriff's, as the town lies on the border, who are far away.
Opponents of the plan aren't actually bothered by an increase in gun ownership, they are upset that it's a government telling them what they must do.
