One requires people prove their ability to use a handgun, in person, before being granted an online permit.
That bill will now head to Governor Hickenlooper.
The second establishes a process for guns to be taken away from domestic offenders.
Despite it's being passed, there are still amendments connected to it, that need to be agreed upon, before it can continue on.
Texas has a new proficiency bill for renewing a CCA/CCP. If a state is going to issue permits, it's not a bad idea. I still prefer the restricted constitutional carry like Arizona has. There are some areas (college campuses, bars, etc.) you need a permit in order to carry concealed. But you can carry concealed in most public areas without needing a permit.
ReplyDeleteThe Lautenberg Amendment already restricts firearm ownership for anybody convicted of domestic violence (federal law).
The states that infringe upon the Second Amendment protections are finding more and more that those laws get struck down. Look at Illinois. All of their current restrictions are in limbo because federal courts struck down key clauses.
