US Army Chief Warrant Officer Matthew P. Ruffner, thirty-four of Tafford, Pennsylvania, died on April 9, in the Pachir Wa Agam District of Afghanistan.
He was assigned to the 1st Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, 104th Aviation Regiment, 28th Combat Aviation Brigade, 28th Infantry Division out of Fort Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania.
His awards included the Army Achievement Medal, three Army Reserve Component Achievement Medals, and the Parachutist Badge.
