18 Injured in Dagestan Black Widow Attack

Eighteen people were injured when a suicide bomber blew herself up, on Saturday, in Dagestan.

Authorities identified the bomber as Madina Alieva, twenty-five, a widow of two Islamic radicals, who had been killed in clashes with security forces, in 2009 and 2012.

Dagestan is one of the most violent regions in Russia, with Islamists regularly clashing with police and the military.

Women have been known to be active in terrorist acts, in the region, and Russians call them black widows.
