Thousands joined the public celebrations of Croatia's official entry into the European Union, on Sunday.
Fireworks flashed above every city, as the country became the twenty-eighth member of the EU.
In Zagreb, EU and regional officials joined the celebrations.
At midnight, the sounds of Beethoven's Ode to Joy, the EU's anthem, rang out.
While now an official member of the union, Croatia still has a ways to go before becoming part of the Eurozone.
Their economy is considered to weak to be allowed into the group of EU countries that shares the Euro.
