Across the US, nearly one hundred protests will take place on Thursday.
As the country celebrates Independence Day, thousands will meet to protest "unconstitutional surveillance" that the government has been carrying out.
The Restore The Fourth movement is organizing things and promoting the fourth amendment: "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers,
and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be
violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause,
supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place
to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."
In addition to the protests, many websites will be "going black", by placing black boxes or covering their logo in black, for the day as a protest of their own.
