Ariel Castro was sentenced, on Thursday, to life in prison, without the chance of parole, plus one thousand years.
Castro had kidnapped three women, and for more than ten years held them captive, treating them as slaves.
On May 6, one of the women escaped and brought police in to rescue the others.
He tried to tell the judge that he was sick and needed help, but a psychologist told the court that Castro was not mentally ill, in the least.
Castro had been facing the death penalty, but made a plea bargain to avoid that fate.
