Rebels Make Gains in Syria

Syrian rebel forces made some key gains, on Monday.

Near the Turkish border they finally captured Minnig Military Airport, after besieging it since January.

Nine different rebel groups were involved in the siege, including two that are members of the Al Qaeda terrorist network.

The base finally fell after a suicide bomber drove a truck into the last government stronghold and blew everything up.

That forced the rest of the government forces to abandon their positions and the airport.

Meanwhile, in western Syria, rebels continued their progress towards Qardaha, using the mountains to protect their movements from government forces.

Ten rebel groups, including two from Al Qaeda, are operating there.

Rebel forces needed the accomplishments after several defeats at the hand of the government's troops, and it's allies.
